Aims:
 to revise and consolidate numbers
 to ask and answer questions about pictures and numbers
 to practise and identify the correct spelling of a word
 to develop the skill of listening, speaking and writing
 to communicate through actions and signs

Anticipated problems: Ss may have problems with identifying the names of the
children in the book thus confusing them and not pay attention to what they
should do

Assumptions : Before asking questions about the children and their masks
students are asked to go back a few pages and remember the names of the
children

Aids: cassette, flip chart, board, markers, textbook, handouts, textbook

I. Warmer
Aims:
 to tune Ss in
 to check Ss’ comprehension of previous issues
 to revise numbers
 to act according to given statements

previous lesson, i.e. One, two, tie

II. Lead in
Aims:
 to lead into the theme of the lesson
 to check Ss’ ability of spelling numbers correctly
 to provide Ss with identifying-oriented questions
 to identify objects

Ss are asked to complete the 6’ T<S
missing numbers from the S<T
flashcards and to write the
expressions into their notebooks
as well as on the flipchart.
T takes objects from the desks T<S
and asks ‘Is this a..?’ Correct S<T

of the teacher ‘Yes, it is/ No, it
isn’t.’

III. Listen, read and point


Aims:
 to identify objects and people
 to acquire identifying-oriented questions
 to give correct answers to questions
 to properly pronounce and use the newly acquired structure
 to develop the skill of listening

IV. Ask and answer

spelling mistake

Ss look in the book and follow 15’
the trail to see what animal it is. S<T
They write the questions in their
notebooks and come at the
flipchart to write the answers too.
When the exercise has finished S<T
the answers are checked for any
spelling mistakes

V. Consolidation
Aims:
 to develop the skill of listening
 to consolidate the information

Ss have a look at the handout 7’ T<S
with the song Listen! Listen! and
find out what the song is about
by way of questions coming from S<T
the teacher
Ss listen to the song and sing
along with the tape

Aim: to evaluate Ss’ participation and involvement
