SCOPE MATRIX FOR EQUIPMENT INSULATION WORKS


FARABI PETROCHEMICAL ‐ PARAFFIN COMPLEX, YANBU
SubContractor is fully responsible for the execution of the insulation work as per FARABI Project specification, standard & drawings and shall assigns sufficient
qualified personnel to guarantee a smooth and safe operation on site within the given time schedule. The Sub-Contractor shall employ supervision personnel that
are competent enough to find their way around site and to instruct the labourers based on the provided documentation. Subcontractor shall bear the full
responsibility with regard to HSE and quality requirements.

The table below describes (but does not limit) the tasks and responsibilities for the job execution.

The tasks shall be carried out by the organisation whose column is ticked.

4 MATERIAL CONTROL
4.1 Material and Documentation x
All permanent materials needed for insulation work as defined by Farabi engineering
documents like; insulation and jacketing materials, vapor barrier, insulating coatings,

associated hardware and consumables etc.

5 INSULATION WORK
Release of lines and equipment for the assembly of insulation.
5.1 Work may commence after release of pipelines, equipment or other components by x (x)
Contractor.
Supply, delivery and installation of all insulation and jacketing material to site, incl. all
accessories and consumables necessary to carry out the work. Sub-Contractor is

responsible for material disposition, supply to site, reception, inspection, loading, x
unloading, all intermediate transports and proper storing.
Sub-Contractor shall prepare a list of the material intended to be used on site and submit

the documents for prequalification. x
Provision of all tools, consumables and equipment/machinery to
5.4 carry out the assigned work. All insulation work shall be carried out strictly as per approved x
FARABI Drawings, standard and specification.
PIR in-situ-foam work may only be carried out by certified
5.5 personnel. A copy of the relevant certification documents shall be x
submitted to Company at least six weeks prior to start of work.
Delivery and installation of sniffing tubes at flanges for cold will be confirmed

Provision of skips for waste disposal. Waste disposal shall be in conformity with all relevant
environmental regulations. Documentation and certificates of proper waste disposal shall
be submitted to Company.

Note: Where old insulation material has been dismantled it might x
be necessary to take special precautions and to follow special
procedures of disposal (e.g. asbestos).

Removal and refitting of gratings for construction needs. The


location of the removed grating shall be secured immediately due

to potential risk of accidents! Any modifications required to grating (x) x
shall be immediately reported to Contractor.
Prefabrication of insulation/jacketing shall be ensured based on site-measuring and will be

carried out at Subcontractor shop. x
Skilful, proper execution and supervision of the complete, fully
5.10 functional insulation work and/or dismantling shall be done by an x
adequate number of qualified personnel.
Weather protection, as long as it can be performed with foils and
5.11 blankets. The Sub-Contractor shall be debited for any necessary rework due to inadequate x
weather protection
Add-ons for heat tracing encompasses all additional measures for
the relevant equipment/pipelines. This includes –but is not limited
5.12 to- 1) the sealing of additional penetration in the cladding by x
heating-cables or tracers and 2) wrapping of the relevant
equipment/pipelines with foil.
The valve stem packing shall always be accessible
