and no complicated mounting brackets.

which is set as a default to maximize battery
life, with a continuous-on mode that can be
selected to provide a constant LED display.
■ The optional ICM Tx is a single unit that
combines all of the features of the highly-
successful ICM 2000® Plus Integrated PASS
device with the functionality of the Heads-Up-
Display (HUD) transmitter. As a single compo-
nent of the Air Mask, less space is required on
the firefighter’s chest and the number of types
of batteries used on the Air Mask has been
consolidated.
The ICM Tx provides the wearer a digital display
of time remaining in the cylinder based on the
firefighter’s previous three minutes of breathing,
battery status, cylinder pressure (both numeri-
cally as well as with an icon) and heat alarms.
The unit is capable of data logging the last
25 hours of use.
■ Use of the highest quality and grades of
stainless steel and aluminum with select blends
of Kevlar, rubber, and plastic molding com-
pounds for the highest strength and durability.
■ Teflon hard-coat anodized valve bodies to
minimize the friction of internal components
and maximize their service life.
■ Electronics designed for ruggedness and
immunity to fire ground RFI (radio frequency
interference). The Air Mask’s electronics must
first pass through MSA’s stringent in-house RFI
testing chamber to ensure reliable operation
before you use them.
■ A maintenance policy that delivers the lowest
possible cost of ownership, based on the
frequency of use of the Air Mask. For many
departments, this means only conducting an
annual flow test according to the NFPA 1852
standard. Even a busy department using one
cylinder every other day would find the cost

MSA has you protected with the latest
enhancements to our FireHawk Air Mask,
the fire service’s FIRST NFPA 1981-2002
edition, NIOSH-approved CBRN self-
contained breathing apparatus.
MSA’s new FireHawk CBRN SCBA was
developed to provide you with positive
protection from CBRN agents, according to
the stringent live-agent test regimen of
the NIOSH approval process. Because
conventional silicone diaphragms are among
the SCBA components most vulnerable
to CBRN agent permeation, our positive-
protection design seals the new diaphragm
of the Firehawk® regulator from any initial
contact with contaminants.

The MSA Ultra Elite Facepiece offers an effective combination of comfort and performance. Ultra Elite facepieces
are available in three sizes and two materials—black Hycar rubber, and black silicone. To reduce lens fogging,

The Nightfighter Heads-Up-Display (HUD) exceeds the latest

The wireless Nightfighter system consists of three components:
a transmitter that mounts on the Air Mask’s gaugeline, a facepiece
bracket that attaches to the Ultra Elite facepiece, and a receiver that
attaches to the facepiece bracket.

DragonFly® PASS
The DragonFly PASS from MSA was among the first PASS
devices designed to meet the stringent NFPA-1982, 1998
Edition standard.
This standard calls for automatic (hands-off) activation of
stand-alone PASS devices as well as two jumps in pre-alarm
volume. The DragonFly PASS exceeds the standard by offer-
ing a range of pre-alarm volumes and tones to help users

The stand-alone DragonFly SA PASS features a tethered key
designed to be attached to your jump seat, locker, or vehicle
interior. When you jump to action, the key pulls out, and your
DragonFly SA PASS activates and is on guard, monitoring
your every move. Once the job is complete, you can turn off
your stand-alone PASS by simply replacing the key and

Gas-Tester™ II H Detector Tube Pump

The Gas-Tester II H Pump is set for action by compressing the bellows. A pump stroke is started by
pressing the release button. When the sample (100ml) is drawn through the tube, the end-of-stroke
indicator changes color. An accurate measurement is obtained because the sample draw
procedure itself is controlled only by the specifications of the pump and the flow resistance of the
detector tube.

Chemical Warfare Agent Detector Tube Kits

Chemical Warfare Kits are available in a Single CWA Tube Sampler and a Multi CWA Tube
Sampler. The Single CWA Tube Sampler will only sample one CWA tube at a time. The
Multi CWA Tube Sampler allows the user to simultaneously sample up to four CWA tubes
at the same time without making adjustments. The kit is supplied with an MSA Escort ELF
pump, which maintains constant flow with a built-in “Run/Hold” feature that allows the
user to start/stop the pump and still maintain an accurate sampling timer. The four-port
manifold tube holder is pre-set for the proper flow rate for CWA tube sampling.

The calibration cylinders are not refilled, but salvaged for scrap.

the ARC operating fund for salaries and operating costs.
Calibration cylinders are considered hazardous unless the cylinders
are empty. MSA has developed special devalving tools that will
ensure the cylinder is empty and render the cylinder non-fillable.
For your convenience, MSA also offers a specially pre-addressed
shipping box (also recyclable) which helps you pay the lowest

Extraction System
(HFES) is a special-
ized rescue product
designed for those extreme
cases where the rescuer has no
other option, but to be lowered
head first into a confined space
to perform a rescue. These
cases are rare, but can happen
when someone has fallen into a
restrictive confined space such
as a well or drain system. The
system allows the rescuer to be
lowered comfortably into a
confined space head first,
harness the victim, and raise
both victim and rescuer out
