I am the one who has high regards for self and others.
College was K.J. Somaiya, Vidyavihar, Mumbai. Attended regularly in initial years
before got engaged in other activities.
Q.3) When did you join the teaching profession? What inspired you to choose this line?
Professionally in 1998.
In 1991 I taught Algebra being in IXth Standard to 8th Standard Students in a role play.
Algebra Teacher Padmaja then said “Pawan you will one day become a very good teacher”
(a) I teach financial mgmt, SSF, SAPM, AFM, BFM, Management Accounts etc.
(b) I Love most to teach economics and history.
(c) Books authored by me is available for subject F.M. & SSF for T.Y.BMS.
Q.6) Do you believe in teaching should be full of ideas rather than stuffed with facts?

Q.7) Can a student from Arts/science background also do BMS?
To do any course you require only ‘Interest’. So it can be done by ‘Interested’ Arts /
Science background Students also.
Q.8) As a BMS faculty, what kind of projects do you expect bms students to work upon?
Projects that are current & practical. The one that enriches the audience.
Q.9) Do you think a BMS Student should participate in College fests and Industrial Visits? Why?
Yes he/she should. Also I believe they should work part-time. All these things will give an
insight to practical world and latter turns out to be a stepping stone in success journey of a
BMS Student.
Q.10) People say BMS is 70 % of first year MBA. After BMS, is work experience important for
MBA?
Q.11) There is a shortage of eminent professors at bachelors’ level management. With more and
more institutes joining the professional courses bandwagon, do you think BMS will become yet
another Bcom?
No, it will not happen. The fears are overstated by vested interest.

Q.14) Today, we often come across students committing suicide out of failure, depression or
tension of exams. What do you have to say about this?
Q.17) Do alumni come back and tell you about life after bms?
Yes, So many students have remained in touch over these many years.
Q.18) A famous quote says “A good teacher is like a candle - it consumes itself to light the way
for others”. What would you like to say on this?
Do not agree ! ! By enlightening others i.e. students, always I have become more
enlightened.
Q.19) Who would you call as the best student so far in your memory?
Q.20) One touching incident that happened with you in your teaching career?
H.R. Principal Indu Sahani on visit to N.M College asked me “Why don’t you come to
teach in our college?”
Q.21) What suggestions would you like to give to mumbai university for amendments in the
BMS course?
Suggestion is course is fine, but make competent people the T.Y.BMS paper setter.

BMS Students read “Economic times daily” and seek answers from faculty of Practical
Problems facing India.
