MUMMFICATION

 ESSAY  COMPLETION  
Using  information  from  your  note  cards,  you  will  need  to  write  two  very  well  developed  
paragraphs  to  complete  an  essay.    One  paragraph  will  describe  the  embalming  process,  and  
the  other  paragraph  will  describe  the  wrapping  process.    Your  paragraphs  should  be  
informative  (explanatory).    You  will  be  writing  your  paragraphs  in  Google  Docs.    Be  sure  to  
include  the  author  name(s)  in  the  upper  right  corner  of  the  document.  
 
To  show  proficiency,  EACH  paragraph  should:  
•  start  indented  (5  spaces)  
•  SUMMARIZE  the  process  identified  in  each  paragraph  
•  include  all  critical  steps  and  sequenced  in  order  
•  include  only  information  from  the  provided  website  and  include  ONLY  facts  that  are    
  written  in  your  notes  –  they  will  be  checked  
•  have  no  evidence  of  personal  opinion  (I/me/my/we/us/our  )  or  value  language  (opinion)  
•  be  written  entirely  in  your  own  words  
•  stay  on  topic  
•  present  ideas  clearly  
•  use  language  and  vocabulary  that  is  appropriate  
•  use  at  least  two  different  transition  words  or  phrases  to  start  sentences  
  (have  transition  words  with  following  comma  in  blue  ex:  Finally,)  
•  have  an  effective  topic  sentence  (underline  your  topic  sentence  in  each    paragraph),    
  relevant  supporting  details,  and  strong  closing  (underline  your  closing  sentence  in    
  each  paragraph)  
•  have  at  least  two  compound  sentences  in  each  paragraph  
  (have  conjunction  and  comma  before  in  red/ex:  ,  but)  
•  have  a  completed  work  cited  by  copying  the  following  after  your  paragraphs:

•  one  additional  body  paragraph  on  mummification  with  all  of  the  meets
