NARRATIVE REPORT ON THE INTERNATIONAL COASTAL

CLEAN UP 2018

In accordance with the annual International Coastal Clean Up, the Bataan School of
Fisheries joined this important activity last September 22, 2018.

The activity was held at 6:00 in the morning at the seashore of Barangay Daan Bago,
Orion Bataan.

Most of the people in the Barangay gets their income and provides their necessities
thru fishing, especially those people who are living near the shore that’s why this kind of step
in cleaning oceans and waterways are well participated by the volunteers living in the
Barangay Daan Bago, Lusungan and Capunitan.

The activity was also participated by the students, the teachers and the Barangay
Officials headed by Honorable Barangay Captain Nolasco S. Waje.

There are also some volunteers from different sector like Philippine National Police
and Cooperative of Orion.

The trash that they get from the seashore was all gathered and collected by the
Barangay Officials. The activity ended at 9:00 am. This event or activity serves us a lesson to
be a responsible and useful individual in the society, it taught us to be more mature and to
open our minds on what’s going on to our community, also it gives us a knowledge on how
trash affect our ocean, damage marine lives and us. Therefore, being responsible is just not
enough but we need to respect our nature, we need to protect it and we need to cooperate and
volunteer in any activity that tackles about environment, thus we should listen and do action
that can help the environment even in the simplest way, that’s the reason why International
Coastal Cleanup was implemented for us to be able to promote Clean and Green
surroundings.

Hence it is not just ordinary activity but by the help of this event we can overcome the
difficulties in dealing with the garbage in shorelines and also because of it we can save lot of
marine lives, Yes we’re just only human that made a mistakes but we need also to think that
they are also a living things that needs respect and help, without them we are nothing, we will
never exist in this world, we need to use our knowledge not just for our own sake but for
everyone’s betterment.
