Reflection
(Minimum of 3-4 sentences per question)
1. Briefly describe the field experience. What did you learn about technology coaching and technology leadership from completing this field
experience?
This professional development session included preparing for and presenting at GaETC(Georgia Educational Technology Conference). The professional
development session: May The Spark be with You was a 1 hour workshop in collaboration with my colleague. Both myself and colleague were responsible
for presenting Adobe Spark tools that related to personalized learning. As a result of preparing and presenting this professional development I learned a lot
about organizing and facilitating a professional development. My colleague was a first-time presenter and needed a lot of motivation and resources to present
her topics. Before presenting to teachers and ed tech leaders I made sure all information and resources were adequate to share with attendees. As a
technology coach and facilitator, I learned that adults need modeling and scaffolding for technology best practices. Also, preparation and organization are
key for a successful professional development session.

2. How did this learning relate to the knowledge (what must you know), skills (what must you be able to do) and dispositions (attitudes, beliefs,
enthusiasm) required of a technology facilitator or technology leader? (Refer to the standards you selected above. Use the language of the PSC
standards in your answer and reflect on all 3—knowledge, skills, and dispositions.)
Knowledge
(PSC 2.1, 2.2) In order to model and facilitate the use of researched based practices for teachers and ed tech leaders, I had to understand how the Georgia
standards of Excellence can be utilized and implemented with the different tools across grades Kindergarten through Twelfth grade. In addition, to complete
this professional development workshop it was necessary to have an understanding of Adobe Spark and specific technology tools that support students and
teachers. As a technology coach I had to model and engage the teachers on specific tech tools that relate to personalized learning.

Skills (PSC 2.2, 5.2) – Planning and preparation were needed to complete this one hour workshop. All of the materials and resources for the session had to
be prepared and aligned to the ISTE Teacher Standards and Georgia Standards of Excellence. Also, allowing the teachers to have time during the workshop
to practice integrating tools aligned to the Georgia Standards of Excellence within their lessons was very important. Most importantly the teachers received
several resources on integrating the Adobe Spark tools in their classrooms.

Dispositions – (PSC 6.3)- In order to make this professional development workshop effective, my level of enthusiasm and positivity were key
characteristics to have with faculty members. Also, making the workshop fun, engaging, and informative were necessary for teacher engagements. As a
technology coach it’s important to understand the different needs and learning styles of the participants to keep them engaged and learning.

3. Describe how this field experience impacted school improvement, faculty development or student learning at your school. How can the impact be
assessed?
Due to the fact that this technology workshop was created for all educators in the state of Georgia, I’m not aware of the direct impact on faculty
development. However, I know the attendees level of knowledge has changed. The workshop provided the teachers and ed tech leaders with creative tools to
help engage learning in their classrooms and buildings. The attendees level of understanding regarding different Adobe Spark tools has increased, and they
are better equipped to introduce technology tools to their students.
