Version history:
Version 4 30.01.07 One manual test step added on page 3. Test specifications for
WCDMA phones updated on page 5
Version 3 29.08.06 Updates to availability of test scripts, GoNoGo test specifications
for GSM phones and WCDMA phones. Appendix III added.
Version 2 02.06.05 WCDMA specification added
Version 1 13.02.04 Initial version

Purpose of this GoNoGo Test is to give basic first check of a returned

product in a level 1 or 2 service point and to verify a product after a level 1, 2
repair activity with disassembling and assembling.

To harmonise the GoNoGo activities at service level 1 and 2 the following

GoNoGo test specifications have been set to ensure electrical and visual
condition of serviced products to be returned to Nokia customer.

The GoNoGo Test is required after all level 1 & 2 repairs and has to be
performed with the assembled phone to ensure the quality of serviced
products. The test shall be done for each, by the phone supported band and
network technology.

This test is included in the actual activity based price calculations.

The GSM/WCDMA specification is divided into test steps, which can be

automatically run with control software from the relevant test equipment
supplier.

To support a fast implementation of the GoNoGo test in the repair process of

authorised service partner, the test equipment manufacturer offers test
scripts and phone list updates according to the specific test setup on special
web pages.

The supported equipment and links to the support pages of the manufacturer
you can find in the table below.

APPENDIX II

GoNoGo-Test specification for WCDMA phones

There are two tests to be performed, the first measures the RF performance
parameters and the second is a simple check of audio performance and
general call capability in a voice call.

To eliminate interference problems with external networks, the test shall be

performed in a shield box with a shield factor > 60 dB.

RF performance testing:

Tests steps are based on specifications from 3GPP TS 34.121. Limits here
are generally wider than 3GPP to allow for tester accuracy, operator
variability and test environment factors.

The following checks will be performed in a 12.2kbps RMC call. The tests
have to be done for each supported band on three different channels as
shown below.
