REDUCED ADVERVB CLAUSES

Una adverb clause puede ser reducida a una adverb phrase. Esto puede ser
particularmente útil cuando quiere expresar sus ideas de una manera más concisa. Antes
de reducir una cláusula de adverbio en una frase adverbial.
Asegúrate de que la cláusula de adverbio) y la cláusula principal tengan el mismo sujeto.
EJEMPLO:
Since he moved to germany two years ago , he has struggled to learn the language.

LAS FRASES DEBEN TENER EL
MISMO SUJETO.

Pero antes de ponernos en material debemos diferenciar los tipos de advervios que se
usan:

 AFTER
 BEFORE ADVERVIOS DE  BECAUSE
ADVERVIOS DE RAZON  SINCE
 WHILE
TIEMPO
SOLO LOS ADVERVIOS DE RAZON AL REDUCIR SE
ELIMINAN POR COMPLETO.
¡¡¡NUNCA SE ELIMINAN LOS
ADVERVIOS DE TIEMPO AL EJEMPLO:
REDUCIR!!!

AL REDUCIR:
Being a good student, he won a scholarship to study abroad.

Ahora si demos las reglas para reducir: (las he dividido en 2 partes para que se entiendan
mejor)
 ADVERVIOS DE TIEMPO:
Empecemos:

 AFTER:
Se reducen las oraciones cambiando: el verbo a la forma ing, manteniendo
el after pero eliminando el sujeto.
EJEMPLOS:

After I mastered korean, I decided to study Chinese.

AL REDUCIR:
After mastering Korean, I decided to study Chinese.

He became an interpreter after he graduated from college.

AL REDUCIR:
He became an interpreter after graduating from college.

 BEFORE:
Se reducen las oraciones cambiando: el verbo a la forma ing, manteniendo
el before pero eliminando el sujeto.

EJEMPLOS:

Before I played soccer, I did my homework

AL REDUCIR:
Before playing soccer, I did my homework

 WHILE:
Se reducen las oraciones cambiando: el verbo a la forma ing, manteniendo
el while,pero eliminando el sujeto.

EJEMPLOS:

While she spoke Spanish at home, she used English exclusively at work
AL REDUCIR:
While speaking Spanish at home, she used English exclusively at work

 ADVERVIO DE RAZON
Empecemos:
 BECAUSE:
Se reducen las oraciones cambiando: el verbo a la forma ing, eliminando el
because y eliminando el sujeto.

EJEMPLOS:

Because he was a good student, he won a scholarship to study abroad.

AL REDUCIR:
Being a good student, he won a scholarship to study abroad.

CASO PARTICULAR:
Si la oracion se da con el verbo negativo al reducir se obtiene la forma:

NOT+ VERBO EN ING+ FRASE 1+,+ FRASE 2

EJEMPLOS:

Because he did not like New York, he moved to Geneva.

AL REDUCIR:
Not liking New York, he moved to Geneva.

 SINCE:
Se reducen las oraciones cambiando: el verbo a la forma ing, eliminando el
since y eliminando el sujeto.

EJEMPLOS:

Since he worked in the UN building, he lived in New York city.

AL REDUCIR:
Working in the UN building, he lived in New York city.
