SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN SCIENCE

Practice Teacher: Kerwin R. Soriao Date: January 11, 2019

Subject: Science 9 Section: Sierra Madre
Time:

CONTENT STANDARD:

The learners demonstrate an understanding of how gases behave based on the motion and
relative distance between gas particles.

LEARNING COMPETENCY:

Investigate the relationship between; A. volume and pressure in constant temperature of a

gas an; B. Volume and temperature at constant pressure of a gas.

Explain the above mention using kinetic molecular theory.

I. OBJECTIVES:

SUB – COMPETENCIES: At the end of the lesson, the students are able to:

a. Define Kinetic Molecular Theory.

b. Explain the properties of gases.
c. Appreciate the importance of gases to humans.

II. SUBJECT MATTER:

A. Topic: Kinetic Molecular Theory

B. Reference: Learner’s Material pp. 339 and Teacher’s Guide

C. Instructional Materials:
 Visual aids
 Chalk and Board
III. METHODOLOGY/LEARNING PROCEDURES:

A. Preliminary/Introductory Activities
1. Prayer

2. Checking of attendance

3. Checking of assignments

4. Review

B. Motivation – (The teacher will ask the students)

GQ: Class what do you observe in this classroom?
How about gas? Anyone can observe the movement of gases?
C. Lesson Proper

1. Application – The learners will perform a group activity.

2. Generalization – the learners will ask to sum up the topic.

3. Valuing – the teacher will ask the learners about the importance of gasses to
human being.

IV. Evaluation – in a form of a short quiz. (True or False)

V. Assignment– How do chemical reactions take place?

Activity 7

(Gaseous Outlook)

Objectives:

Determine the application of gas laws in daily occurrences.

Materials:

Glass bottle

Medium Size balloon

Hot and cold water

Procedure:

1. Prepare the materials needed.

2. Put the neck of the bottle at the mouth of the balloon.
3. Put the bottle on the hot water and observe what will happen.
4. After doing the procedure number 3, directly transfer it on cold water then observe.

Questions:

1. What happen to the balloon as you put the bottle in hot water? Explain why?

2. What happen to the balloon as you put the bottle in the cold water? Why?
