Dear Andrey,

The following is in response to your message that is outlined below.

QUESTION:

Dear Team,

According to FCOM PRO-NOR-SOP-21 P 1/4 #On ground, hot weather conditions may cause overheating
to be detected around the bleed ducts in the wings, resulting in #AIR L (R) WING LEAK# warnings. Such
warnings may be avoided during transit by keeping the slats in Configuration 1 when the OAT is above 30
°C.#

Aurora Airlines wants to know which one OAT should pilots use: gotten from ATIS information or
presented on ECAM (SD)? As a rule, ECAM OAT is more than ATIS one.
And second question is when may slats/flaps be retracted after first procedure?

Best regards,
Tech pilot
Andrey Danilchenko

ANSWER:

Most of the time ATIS OAT is not the real time temperature since ATIS messages are updated in fixed
intervals or when there is a significant change in the information.
This is the reason why Airbus recommends using the ECAM OAT.

As indicated in the PRO-ABN-AIR, the AIR L(R) WNG LEAK DET FAULT can be triggered up to 5 minutes
after second engine shut down.
Therefore Airbus recommends to retract slats/flaps past 5 minutes after second engine shut down.
However, as indicated in FCOM PRO-NOR-SOP-21, to avoid damage on the RTLU (Rudder Travel Limit
Unit) mechanical stop, the SLATS/FLAPS should be retracted before all ADIRS are set to OFF
simultaneously.

We hope this satisfactorily responds to your request and we remain available for any additional
information and assistance.

Best regards,

Benoit de Wavrechin
