conducting the study.

ABSTRACT

The purposed of this study is to determine the educational gaming and its

implication in the academic performance of the grade 7 students of Gulang Gulang

National High School- Ibabang Talim Extension year 2017-2018. The focus is to

determine if there is significant difference on the gaming behavior when according to

sex. Grade 7 students from Gulang-Gulang National High School who are involved in

playing educational games were purposely selected as respondents with the total

sample of fifty (50) students. The researchers used the Percentage Formula to

determine the demographic profile of the respondents. Determining the gaming

behavior, implication of educational gaming in respondent’s academic performance, the

researcher’s used the Weighted Arithmetic Mean (WAM). To determine the significant

difference on the gaming behavior when grouped according to sex, Independent

Sample T-test was used. In the light of the gathered tabulated, and computed data, this

study proven that gaming behavior has a significant effect on the academic behavior of

the students. Based on the findings, the researchers recommended the teachers and

parent’s helps the school to promote the idea of playing educational games for it helps

the learners to become active participant of the class with proper guidance and

monitoring. The researcher’s recommends student to use gadgets in a useful way rather

in the way that they will benefit in a good way.
