The procedure involves basically 4 Stages :

 Stage1 > From OLT GUI - Configuring a Wi-Fi service for the nominated GP ONT
 Stage2 > From OLT GUI - Configuring Ethernet ELINE service on CEF7 card
 Stage3 > From ONT GUI - Configuring PPPoE service locally on the nominated GP ONT (you should be at GP site)
 Stage4 > Checking if Internet service is arriving on Local laptop or Desktop PC

Referring to the figure above :

STAGE 1– Configuring a WiFi service on the OLT for the nominated GP ONT

STEP 1 : In this example let us consider following cards exist on the OLT, Connect the BSNL Internet OCLAN output fiber
cable to slot 4 CEF7 card, Ethernet port number Eth 1-4-1
STEP 2 :

Open Node GUI, navigate to GPON port number 1-3-1.

In Node GUI, navigate on the left side menu and scroll down, locate the folders ‘GPON’. Ensure port is made ‘Activated’
– Laser Status made ‘ON’ – ONU Discovery mode is ‘Auto’. This will enable ONT to get detected automatically.

For example,

If you click on option “View ONTs On : Port GPON 1-3-1” , it will show list of ONTs, it will get detected as ONTG 1-3-1-1,
if there is one more additional ONT it will get detected as ONTG 1-3-1-2

STEP 3 : In Node GUI, navigate on the left side menu and scroll down, locate the folders as shown in below image. Click
on “Service Profile”, on right side table click on button “Add Service Profile”
STEP 4 : You will get a page “New Service Profile Configuration Details” as shown :

For example, you can create the following entries:

 Profile Name > tejasnsg

 COLT Card > Card_COLT-1-3
 Service Type > WiFi
 Deployment Type > SINGLE
 Input ONT Tag > UnTagged
 Bandwidth Unit > Kbps
 Assured Bandwidth > 4096
 Maximum Bandwidth > 4096
 Outer VID > 270 (both Start & End)

NOTE : If BBNL/BSNL Providing direct OCLAN user credentials – check with officer for permitted VLAN range
details. For each GP, Internet Connection, Tejas engineer will plan and allot VLAN ID, for example BSNL officer says
you can use VLAN range 200 to 500, Tejas engineer should allot 270 for GP-A, 271 for GP-B, 272 for GP-C, etc…..

STEP 5 : In Node GUI, navigate on the left side menu and scroll down, locate the folders as shown in below image. Click
on “Connections”, on right side table click on button “Add New Connection”
STEP 6 : You will get a page as shown below :

In the “Connection Config Parameters” Please select from drop-down menu, the following options, as listed :

 COLT Card > Card_COLT-1-3

 Service Type > WiFi
 Service Profile > tejasnsg
 PON Port > Port_GPON-1-3-1
 ONTG > ONTG-1-3-1-1

STEP 7 : This step completes ONT side configurations. After creating the connection, a page appears.
STAGE 2 – Configuring Ethernet ELINE service on CEF7 card

STEP 1 :

Setting Switching Parameter for CEF7 Eth port

 Go to “L2 Services” > “Service Switch-1” > “Port Configuration” > Select Switch Parameter for Port ETH-
1-4-1 ( this is the port where BSNL Internet OCLAN cable is to be connected using SFP )
 Port Mode = Regular_Mode.
 Port VLAN ID = keep default value (no changes)
 Acceptable Frame Policy = Accept All (It is assumed Untagged Frames from OCLAN Internet output)
STEP 2 : Switching Parameter for PON Logical Port

 Go to L2 Services > Service Switch-1>Port Configuration>Select Switch Parameter for Port BPETH-1-3-201 (This is
a logical port which will connect to GPON-1-3-1 port where ONT is added)
 Port Mode = Regular_Mode.
 Port VLAN ID = keep default value (no changes)
 Acceptable Frame Policy = keep default value (no changes)

STEP 3 : Create a New ELINE Service with a name, for example ‘INTERNETtoGP1’ (On Left Side Menu, Navigate to “L2
Services” > “Services Provisioning” > “ELINE Services”)

 Flow Point 1 should be Eth-1-4-1

 Flow Point 2 should be BPETH-1-3-201
 Flow Point Template should have VLAN range entry as 270

NOTE : For Internet config for every GP in one GPON card tree - for every GP ELINE service make individual Flow Point
templates, example CVLAN 270,271,271,......etc....
STAGE 3 – Settings to be done on GP ONT with BBNL / BSNL provide
service credentials

STEP 1: Power ON Local ONT. Connect to ONT WiFi cloud / if using LAN cable use GbE Port num 4.

STEP 2: Open browser and launch the router home page http://192.168.1.1/

 Username: Admin
 Password Admin

STEP 3: Restore the ONT to Default state – “Management” > “Settings” > “Restore Default”

STEP 4:

On left side menu go to “Advanced Setup” > “Layer2 Interface” > “GPON WAN Interface Configuration” page will
appear, click button “Add” > select option “veip0/veip0” > click “Apply/Save”
Upon completion of the steps you should get view as shown below :

STEP 5: Click on “WAN Service” > “ADD” > Next Screen select “veip0/veip0” > click “Next”

STEP 6: Select the “PPPoE” settings as shown, click “Next” : (-1 is default value in equipment, keep it)
STEP 7: Select the “PPPoE” settings as shown and click “Next” :

For example in real scenario it can be as below :

 Username : bs29899497_sid@ftth.bsnl.in
 Password : password
 Primary DNS 218.248.255.141
 Secondary DNS 218.248.255.139

STEP 8: As shown in below screenshot ‘highlight in blue’ and just click “Next” :
STEP 9 : Make the DNS server entries here and click “Next”

STEP 10 : You will get a similar screen click “Apply/Save”

STEP 11 :

You can check here if “Internet service is getting through”

On left menu click under “Device Info” > “WAN”

”Status” should show “Connected”

“IPv4 Address” should show “a number”

NOTE : After the service creations, if internet is not appearing,

• You have to power OFF & power ON Local ONT

• Check for any optical power issues

• Change GP ONT side SC-APC patch chord

STAGE 4 – Checking if Internet service is arriving on Local laptop or
Desktop PC
STEP 1 : Connect Laptop to WiFi Cloud / or connect RJ45 port via LAN cable to Port Num 4 GbE port on ONT.

Keep Laptop IP settings as shown here :

STEP 2 : Open Browser & check www.google.co.in , if working fine, check webpage “http://www.speedtest.net/”

When doing speed test, check, all other PC/Phones connected to ONT WiFi or LAN port must be disconnected. Note:
Speed may not always exactly match the Configured value. (you have to check in Back-End OCLAN settings)
STEP 3 :

If you want to activate Internet on GP-ONT Physical GbE Ports 1 / 2 / 3 – you have to change the ports settings from
“Bridge” mode to “IP” mode.

WARNING : For each ‘mode change’ ONT will reboot, so will be down for 2-3mins.

All the following settings to be made by Local login to OLT. Navigate to, for example, ONTG-1-3-1-1 Page, and click on
the Yellow Arrow marks shown in below screenshots.
Change from default Bridge mode to IP Mode.
