CHINESE GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIPS 2019/2020

undergraduate studies, graduate studies or advanced training at institutions of
higher learning in China during the academic year 2019/20

ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible, applicants must:
• Be a citizen and permanent resident of Jamaica
• Not be a citizen of the People’s Republic of China
• Be a High School graduate under the age of 25 when applying for undergraduate programs.
• Be a Bachelor’s Degree holder under the age of 35 when applying for master’s programs
• Be a Master’s Degree holder under the age of 40 when applying for doctoral programs
• Applicants under the age of 18 should submit the valid documents of their legal guardians in China
• Submit medical certificate attesting to good health.
• Application should be endorsed by the national Liaison Office (ONE) i.e. The Scholarship and Assistance
Unit, Ministry of Finance and the Public Service
• Have a valid passport and US visa.

OBLIGATION
Successful candidates will be required to sign a bond to work in Jamaica for at least five (5) years to contribute to
economic and social development.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
1. The Chinese Government Scholarship Application form is an electronic form which must be completed online
at http://www.csc.edu.cn/laihua or www.campuschina.org by clicking “Application Online for International
Students”. Please read all instructions carefully.
2. Download the completed Application Form and print two hard copies.
3. Prepare supporting documents (in duplicate) for application package as required:
• Completed Application Form (Agency #3881)
• Notarized highest diploma
• Academic transcripts
• Birth Certificate, Copy of the Biodata Page of Passport
• Curriculum vitae
• A study plan or research proposal
• Recommendation letters
• Applicants planning to stay in China for more than 6 months must submit a photocopy of Foreigner
Physical Examination Form (valid for 6 months).
• Applicants with Pre-admission Letter/Admission Letter for designated universities should enclose the
letter within the package
• Applicants with valid HSK Certificate should enclose a photocopied version
Note: Documents should be bound on the top left corner in order. No application documents will be returned.
