The demand for Technical and Vocational school is influenced by many factors as above. Job Opportunity is one of the important
factors influencing the demand for Technical and Vocational school. Technical and Vocational school are focused on skill-based
subject and the students who graduate from here are more marketable for jobs especially skilled based jobs. Next the students interest
is also a factor for the demand where students who are more interested in Technical and skill-based subject have an opportunity to
further their studies according to their interest. The Government policy has a great influence on demand of Technical and Vocational
school too. The Malaysian Education Blueprint 2013 – 2025 has analyzed and presented a wide scope on improving TVET education
in Malaysia. TVET is considered as the main agenda in PPPM 2013- 2025 and a lot of initiatives is being carried out for the
improvisation of TVET in Malaysia.
Upgrading of Technical and Vocational school too is a factor for the increase of the demand. One of the Agenda of PPPM 2013-2025
is upgrading the Technical and Vocational Schools and allocation has been set for upgrading Vocational schools to Vocational
Colleges. Next parents mind set towards Technical and Vocational school has changed and they are more supportive to send their
children there. The parents have realized the importance of skill-based learning and the job opportunity for the students in the future.
The next factor is academic qualification of the students. Students with low academic qualification will also be accepted into
Technical and Vocational schools and given skill-based training in order to prepare them for the real life working field. Other than
that, the students form TVET schools or colleges are better skilled than other students because they will be given on job training for at
least 6 months and they will be offered higher wage or salary.
Finally, the aim of TVET education in Malaysia is to produce entrepreneurs who are able to create their own job. For those who are
interested to get involved in business or to do their own business, TVET will be a good platform.

Technical areas
The Supply of the Technical and Vocational schools is influenced by many factors as above. Government policy plays a very
important role in the supply of TVET schools and colleges. When PPPM 2013- 2025 was introduced, more TVET colleges and school
were opened and also been upgraded. Therefore, the supply for TVET schools and colleges has increased. The second factor is to
create professionals in Technical and Vocational jobs. More professional workers are produced by TVET schools and colleges to fit
the job market. Then the increase of well trained teachers and lecturers in Technical and Vocational field is an important factor in the
supply. Trained teachers and lecturers will be able to upgrade the quality and skill of the students in TVET schools.
Next, good facilities and infrastructures too influence the supply of TVET schools. If we compare Technical and Vocational Schools
now and 20 years ago, they have gone through a tremendous change and improvement in facilities and infrastructure. This attracts
more students to Technical and Vocational Schools. When PPPM 2013- 2025 was introduced a big amount of budget have been
allocated for the TVET education, in order to upgrade the schools and facilities. Next, TVET education not only focus on academic
and school training but also Industrial job training have been introduced as a part of the syllabus. Partnership with Industries for On
Job Training will produce more professional and qualified students and workers. Finally, TVET students also have the opportunity to
further study to tertiary level since more Universities are offering Technical Courses.
