Work Instruction

Standard Sales Order from Stock (VA01) VA01

Purpose
Use this procedure to create a master recipe.

Trigger
None

Prerequisites
The material and the BOM must already have been created.

Menu Path
Use the following menu path(s) to begin this transaction:
 SAP Menu à Logistics à Production - Process à Master Data à Master Recipes à
Recipe and Material List à C201 - Create
 Type in C201 in the command line.

Transaction Code
VA01

Helpful Hints
Production Versions can be seen using T Code C223.

Note:
R/O/C in the field tables represents Required, Optional, or Conditional field entries.
• Optional field: you may enter information in an optional field, but an entry is not required for the
completion of the transaction.
• Conditional field: an entry that becomes required as a result of entering something previous to it,
which then deems it required.

Procedure

1. Start the transaction using the menu path or transaction code.

SAP Easy Access

2. As required, complete/review the following fields:

Field Name R/O/C Description

Transaction Code R Enter the Transaction Code.

3. As required, complete/review the following fields:

(Either enter the recipe group and recipe or enter material, plant and profile)

Field Name R/O/C Description

Recipe Group R Recipe Group – ensure this is blank.

Recipe R Enter the Recipe number.


Example: 1
Material R If you enter a material here when you create master recipes,
this material is assigned to the recipe at header level. Enter
the Material.
Example: 12000000000

Field Name R/O/C Description

Plant R Enter the plant of the material to be produced.


Example: zz11
Profile R You can use the profile to define values that are often used in
fields and settings in recipes as defaults. This reduces the
work necessary for recipe maintenance.
You can change the values that are copied from the profile.
Enter the profile PI01 (Profile for Process Industry)

4. As required, complete/review the following fields:

Field Name R/O/C Description

Recipe R Description of the Recipe. This is the description of the


material you are creating the recipe for.

Status R Description of the Status. Always use 4.


Example: 4

Usage R Description of the Usage. Always use 1.


Example: 1

From R Lower limit of the charge quantity range valid for the recipe.
Example: 1 KG
to R Upper limit of the charge quantity valid for the recipe.
Example: 99.999.999 Kgs

Note that for Shop Floor Interface recipes (where the components are sourced from a dispenser) the
resource network must be entered (example SFDISP).

5. Click

6. As required, complete/review the following fields and click

Field Name R/O/C Description

Resource R Enter the Resource. i.e. the equipment to be used


Example: Mixing
Control key R Description of the Control key.
Example: PI01,
Description R Enter the Description. Describes the operation or sub-
operation.
Example: Mixing process
Sup. Operation R Enter the Sup. Operation.
Example: 0010

Field Name R/O/C Description

Destinatn R Enter the Destination.


Example: 01 for all, except Shop floor interface, which is S1
Resource R Enter the Resource.
Example: Mixing
Control key R Enter the Control key.
Determines which business transactions should be executed
for the object that belongs to the task list or order (for example
scheduling or costing). Note that the last operation must be
YQ02, otherwise finished product is not booked into
stock when CORKing.

7. Click

Create Master Recipe:

Highlight the phases:

Find ‘Goto’ in the header menu, click on it and choose ‘standard values’.

Enter the recipe timings:

Click on to step through the phases. Enter the timings for each.

When the timings on the last phase have been entered, choose back .

8. Click The system will navigate to ‘Insert Production Version’

9. As required, complete/review the following fields:

Field Name R/O/C Description

Production Version R Enter Production Version.


Example: 2
Alternative BOM R Description of the Alternative BOM. This should match the
BOM you are using with the Recipe.
Example: 1
BOM Usage R Description of the BOM Usage. This should match the BOM
you are using with the Recipe.
Example: 1

10. Click to see if the BOM exists

Consistency check of production version

Create Master Recipe: Recipe

Highlight the materials to be related to the first phase:

Click on ‘Create Assignment’ .

Enter the operation number the materials are to be assigned to:

Press enter .

Repeat the procedure for the remaining materials.

The screen should now look like this, with the operation and phase box(es) checked:

For a multi-phase recipes the phases must be linked.

Click on the tab.

Highlight the phases (those with the tick ):

Click on ‘Generate Relationships’

Set the selections as follows:

Press enter .

The message will be displayed.

14. Click

Change Master Recipe: Initial Screen

15. You have completed this transaction.

Result
You have created a master recipe.
