Partas Transportation Company, Incorporated is a transportation company which routes are
bounded to Laoag, Vigan, Abra, La Union, and Baguio from Manila, Cubao, or Pasay, and vice
versa through their buses. Their buses has five classes, which have different prices for each class.
These five classes are known by Regular Air-conditioned, Express, Deluxe, Super Deluxe, and
Luxury buses. The trips of these buses have a specific schedule, which the travelers must
research first if they wanted to choose the bus class they prefer. With the partnership with
Biyaheroes, they also offer advance reservation but the reservation process is stopped during
Christmas vacation. Their waiting area (or lobby) has two floors to accommodate large number of
travelers during weekends and holidays. They also have several security personnel in the vicinity
of the terminal.

Honestly speaking, I prefer Partas to go home in the province and going to Manila, than other
transportation companies who are also bounded to the same route like Fariñas, Florida, and Viron
Transit. Because, first, the location of the terminal in the Cubao is much easier to access going
to and from our boarding house. Second, I like their motto printed on the back of their buses, "We
take pride to our courteous and safe drivers." Third, I grew up traveling with my family with Partas.

The operation of the Partas in the terminal is as follows: ticketing, travel, and drop-off. Their
supplementary services as follows: reservation, payment option, waiting area and lobby,
Facebook page, terminals, security, additional features of the bus, courteous staff and safe
drivers, and more.

First is the reservation. I already did reservation to them online and in their terminal. In online,
I am amazed that I can reserve a seat without going to the terminal, choose seat number that I
prefer, and add add-on foods and drinks. It is just kind of disheartening because the service
charge is kind of pricey, but I understand it. The payment can be paid through different ways. I
paid at 7-11 Kiosk and printed the receipt for claiming ticket. In reserving in the terminal, I just
gone to the advance ticketing booth (in Cubao), said that I will reserve a seat for a specific date
in October, selected a seat, and then paid the fare given. The good side of this reservation is
there are no charges added and I only paid exact fare equal to the regular fare going to our place.
The payment is before boarding the bus through different payment options. I do online reservation
in Partas one month before Christmas season because it is hard to get a ticket during this time
and I do the terminal reservation before todos los santos.

For the usual ticketing, we need to line-up in the ticketing counter and payment comes
afterward. I just needed to say my destination then they said the fare. It usually take a minute but
with a student, senior, or a PWD, it will take a little more time. This recent vacation, because of
lack of buses in the terminal and cannot accommodate all the waiting passengers, they gave us
a stub with a number. Those who got the smaller stub number earlier got their tickets when the
bus is already rested. As for me, I got my stub number at 7PM, and got only the ticket at 2AM in
the succeeding hour. I understand this situation because Partas buses needed to rest and cool-
off for our safety.

Because I usually ride Partas during holiday season, I frequently check their Facebook page
to know if there are still available seats for the coming days. I also researches the schedule of
their trips and decide what kind of bus I will board to. And these are all because of budget
constraints. I also inquired to them in the evening and they still responded after few hours.
Their waiting area or lobby can handle several people as it has air-conditioned two-floor
rooms, which is really good during peak seasons. For the recent Christmas season, even though
the waiting lobby is huge, it cannot handle all the passenger waiting to get a ticket. We already
occupied the space near the ticketing counter and the waiting area on drop-off and way bill
location. As for me, I sat near the ticketing counter for 6 hours because the both waiting areas of
the terminal is already full. I wanted to wait on the second floor of the waiting room because there
are several outlets in there to charge but it was already full when I got there.

In normal circumstances, I need my baggage to be checked by a security. After checking my

baggage, the security, together with a conductor sometimes, will ask where you are going to assist
you in getting a ticket. Also, there are around 4 to 6 securities roaming around the terminal. But
on my last trip going to our province, because there were lot of passengers, they didn't even need
to check everyone's baggage. But I noticed the increase in their security personnel roaming
around the vicinity of the terminal.

I really like their motto, "We take pride to our courteous and safe drivers," but I noticed that
the drivers are not verbally showing it, instead, they do it with their action. The conductors will
assist you if you have heavy baggage and for other concerns. For my last trip last year, I saw their
personnel, both conductor and security, helped a PWD to board in the bus. They prioritized the
PWD and made sure that he or she was okay. Also, if you want to pee in the middle of the road
and the next stop is still far, you can request to them to stop over and make yourself comfortable.
Lastly, they will instruct you to close the curtain on your side to protect yourself against potential
thrown rocks.

For their buses, as mentioned earlier, there are five classes. All of their buses have
compartment for large and heavy baggage. The seats here are also adjustable. Bringing a jacket
or any protective clothing from cold is a must in traveling with Partas buses because it will be cold
there.

First is the 3rd class or commonly called regular air-conditioned bus. It usually have 49
passenger capacity. This class has the lowest fare of Partas buses. The seats are comfortable
but when I ride this bus, I usually prefer to sit on the last row because I can comfortably sleep
there. Second is the 1st class or commonly called Express bus. This class fare have only PHP 20
peso difference from the 3rd class bus. I personally prefer this bus because the travel time from
Cubao to Sinait and vice versa shortens by an hour, which the travel time in the evening is 9
hours, which is a very affordable and valuable. Also this bus class is only commonly used for
reservation and its final drop-off point is usually in Pasay. This bus is a little bit colder than the 3rd
class bus. I rode this bus on my way back to Cubao last January 1, 2019. The third one is the
deluxe class. There is a huge difference between the deluxe and the first class buses. First, the
seating capacity is smaller (28 seater) but the seats became wider. This is good for those who
wants to be more comfortable in sleeping during travel. Second, there is a huge difference with
the fare. There is also a Wi-Fi installed in the bus. When I ride on this bus, I needed not only a
jacket but also a scarf because it is a lot colder in here. The travel time is the same with the first
class bus. The fourth one the super deluxe class. It is also a 28-seater bus and have a little
difference with the fare with the deluxe bus. Here, there is Wi-Fi on board, two TV screens, and
an additional 2 USB charging slot on every seat which are working! I surfed the internet during
the travel while charging and I did not used my power bank. The seats are more comfortable and
have a larger feet space! I rode this bus during the last Christmas season because this is the bus
that arrived first in the terminal. Same travel time with the first class bus. And lastly is the luxury
bus. I just know a little of it because I still didn’t boarded in the said class. It is just that it was a
double-decker like super deluxe class bus with a CR. I just heard that the fare from Cubao to
Sinait is a whopping more than PHP 1,000.

Next is during the travel period. I must say that Partas is the most stable bus I have boarded
off. You can feel that it is stable even when you are asleep. Second are the stop-overs. There are
five stop-overs from Cubao to Laoag (varies depending on time and route), so if you want to go
to the comfort room or wanted a (midnight) snack, there will be plenty. I noticed that at first they
implemented it, the travel time is almost 10 hours, but recently, it goes back from its original travel
time. I also noticed that between stop-overs, the driver will change to have the former driver a
rest.

Lastly is the drop-off location. Terminals are the common drop-off locations but for me, I
dropped-off on our town’s public market. The conductor will ask you where you would like to be
dropped by as you enter the town premise of your drop-off location. Also, if you have large
baggage put in the bus compartment, just say it to the conductor to get it.

For the years of traveling with Partas, I also noticed their improvements as the time goes by.
It was also known that a bus of Partas was repainted to Miss Universe theme and Momoland
theme as a promotional tool for the company. I would also notice that some aspect that they are
lacking for. If I wanted to improve the Partas service to us, I would recommend to have them
gimmicks when Vigan and/or Laoag is having a festival like having a raffle draw to certain bus
number and have five or six individuals will receive a scarf with Baluarte design to be relevant.
Second is to train their conductors to greet every passengers they will have to live with the motto
they had on the back of their buses. Third is they must emphasized their supplementary services
especially those for-travel-time-use-only equipments. And lastly, have discounts from time to time
because recently, Viron Transit just released a poster that they offer discount during the
Kannawidan Festival.

In conclusion, Partas is a great choice if you want to travel to Ilocos via bus. I suggest that
you will travel at night because the travel time is like the normal sleeping hours. They already
have a great service but some aspects needs improvement. I hope they will continue to improve
and have more services to offer in the future
