1.8.1 Labeling
Conformity The manufacturer declares that this product conforms to the fundamental requirements
according to MDD Appendix I and documents this by means of the CE and UL marking.
CE mark: This item of equipment is a Class I medical device as defined by the Euro-
pean Medical Device Directive (MDD 93/42/EEC, 2007, Appendix IX).
UL mark The UL mark confirms that the device has been tested by Underwriter Laboratories Inc.
for use in the USA and Canada with regard to risk of electric shock, fire hazard and me-
chanical hazard.
Single luminaire
Definition: Small surgical luminaire • A single luminaire as defined in IEC 60601-2-41 is a small surgical luminaire and
may only be used for operations where any light failure would not pose a risk to the
patient.
Surgical lighting system
Definition: Surgical lighting system • A surgical lighting system with multiple light heads can be used without restrictions.
1.8.6 Contraindication
No contraindications have been found.
Read the operating instructions • The system can be equipped with further medical devices from other manufactur-
for combined medical products ers. For the operation of these devices, please refer to the respective operating ins-
tructions.
• Only medical devices approved in accordance with IEC 60601-1 or UL 60601-1
may be attached to the system.
If a medical device is installed afterwards, the installation must be performed as
specified in IEC 60601-1. Compliance with this standard must be ensured by the
service technician responsible.
1.10 Guarantee
Guarantee TRUMPF guarantees the safety and functional efficiency of the equipment only on the
condition that:
• installations, modifications and repairs are carried out by TRUMPF service techni-
cians or persons expressly authorized by TRUMPF;
• the requirements for a secure attachment to the ceiling or wall are fully met;
• the electrical installation of the equipment corresponds to the currently valid regu-
lations;
• only original parts from TRUMPF are used;
• only accessories that have been approved or tested for their usefulness are ins-
talled;
• the equipment is used for its intended purpose;
• a commissioning is carried out and the equipment is approved for operation by a
commissioning declaration.
Make sure that all conditions in any given case were considered from a professional
point of view during planning, that the responsible building authority's explicit approval
has been granted and that all installation work is carried out according to the regulati-
ons and using the appropriate tools.
• The structural design of the ceiling and wall must ensure that the loads of the
equipment as well as any other loads are absorbed and distributed safely.
Declaration of acceptance by a structural • The load-bearing capacity of the ceiling and wall must be planned and checked by
engineer a structural engineer and then confirmed by a structural analysis. This structural
analysis of the load-bearing capacity must be carried out and released before the
equipment is installed.
Drilling errors • If an error is made during drilling, for example if you drill into a reinforcement rod,
consult the responsible structural engineer, as the structural load distribution in the
ceiling or wall may be compromised.
Ceiling anchor plate / wall bracket • To ensure proper load distribution, the ceiling anchor plate / wall bracket must be
flush with the ceiling or wall.
Stone walls • The installation should only be carried out with a counterplate (optional) on stone
walls.
Lightweight walls • In the event of lightweight walls which are incapable of bearing loads, a metal con-
struction will have to be used.
Observing building regulations • The applicable national and regional building regulations must be observed.

Pre-assembly
Figure 43 The mounting of the spring arm version depends on the design
type of the central column.
The following spring arm versions can be mounted to the Stan-
dard central column for installation of the end devices:
• Light head (with or without camera) on the
AC 2000 or AC 2000 NRH (Niedrige Raum-Höhe - low cei-
ling height) spring arm,
• the camera on the separate support arm on the
AC 2000 spring arm,
• the VidiaPort VESA 100, VidiaPort Single and VidiaPort
Duo flat screen attachments on the
AC 2000, AC 3000 or AC 5000 spring arms.
The spring arms have different fittings for the various versions
of the lighting system, e.g., light heads with/without camera,
and for the VidiaPort flat-screen monitor installations.
The simplest way to differentiate between the applications is to
take a look at the connecting spigots of the spring arm:

Arm stop
In order to prevent the supply cables twisting off, the extension
arms, Pos. 1 or Pos. 3, must be equipped with an arm stop
which restricts the swivel range of the extension arm to approx.
330 degrees.

Laser marking: Warns of the emission of a laser beam. Indicates the class and speci-
fications of the laser installed.
The label with the marking is attached to the light head housing near the suspension
unit.

Guidelines and manufacturer's declaration - electromagnetic immunity / portable and mobile radio units
Portable and mobile radio units must not be used at a distance to the lighting system, including cables, less than the recommended
protection ratio calculated on the basis of the transmission frequency equation.
Recommended protection ratio:

800 MHz to 2.5 GHz *
* P represents the nominal power of the transmitter in Watt (W) in accordance with the transmitter manufacturer's specifications,
and D indicates the recommended protection ratio in meters (m). In accordance with an on-site inspectiona, the field strength of sta-
tionary radio transmitters at all frequencies must be less than the compliance level.
b Interferences are possible in the environment of devices marked with the following graphic symbol:
Explanation re a and b:
a The field strength of stationary transmitters - including the base stations of mobile phones and mobile land mobile radios, amateur
radio stations, AM and FM radio and TV broadcasting transmitters - theoretically cannot be precisely predetermined. In order to
determine the electromagnetic environment with regard to stationary transmitters, a study of the location should be considered. If
the field strength measured at the location where the above-mentioned equipment is used exceeds the above-mentioned compli-
ance levels, the lighting system should be monitored because additional measures might be required such as adapting the orien-
tation or positioning at a different location.
b The field strength in the 150 kHz to 80 MHz frequency range should be less than 3 V/m.
Notes:
For 80 MHz and 800 MHz the higher value applies.
These guidelines might not be applicable in all cases. The propagation of electromagnetic quantities is influenced by the absorption
and reflection of buildings, items and human beings.
Controlled RF
The lighting system has been designed for operation in an electromagnetic environment in which RF emissions are controlled. The
customer or user of the above-mentioned device can contribute towards avoiding electromagnetic interference by observing the
minimum distance between portable and mobile RF telecommunication devices (transmitters) and the above-mentioned device
depending on the output power of the communication device as indicated below.
For transmitters whose maximum rated power is not indicated in the table above, the recommended protection ratio D in meters
(m) can be determined by means of the equation assigned to the corresponding column; P represents the maximum rated power
of the transmitter in Watt (W) in accordance with the transmitter manufacturer's specifications.
Notes:
For 80 MHz and 800 Hz, the higher frequency range applies. These guidelines might not be applicable in all cases. The propaga-
tion of electromagnetic quantities is influenced by the absorption and reflection of buildings, items and human beings.
