1.0 Introduction:
In this project, we study that If one is desirous to give a web
based platform to its city to be showcased for all it has in terms
of unique business, places to see, things to do, use local transport
for a new traveler – how would he/she structure this information
and also try and make some money by charging people for atleast
4 services you may offer.

Purpose of The Document:


This document contains the synopsis for “Smart City” project. The
synopsis will include the functional requirement and the data
requirement, both of which will describe how the developers will
design the project in order to achieve all objective. This document
will serve as a guide for the client and the developers allowing for
a common document to understand the implementation.

Scope of The Project:


Smart City will be a graphical user interface used to help in
gaining information about a city according to his/her needs .The
project will be developed by using HTML, JSP and other web based
languages.

Definition, Acronyms and Abbreviations:


HTML: HyperText Markup Language for development of project.
JSP: JavaServer Pages (JSP) technology provides a simplified, fast
way to create dynamic web content.

1.4 Overview of The Document


This section (2.0) contains general information on how this project
will run. It will explain most of the programs features and
requirements without many implementation details. Section (3.0)
contains the software requirement data.

2.0 General Description

2.1 User Characteristic:

The project ‘Smart City’ can be used by any of user just only by
accessing the website using any of the web browser.

2.2 Perspectives:
The project is aimed at providing its user information gathering
about a city.

2.3 Overview of Functional Requirement:


i. Complete Map of the city

ii. Complete History of the city – social, political

iii. Complete overview of the businesses in the city

iv. Secure registration of all users including a personal profile

v. Complete Search/Site Map of the entire site for easy access

vi. Local news, government notices.

2.4 Users of the System


i. Any one looking for information of your city

ii. Tourists coming to your city

iii. Businessmen coming to your city


iv. People trying to get some help to do business remotely

2.5 Non-functional requirements


i. Secure access of confidential data (user’s details).

ii. 24 X 7 availability

iii. Flexible service based architecture will be highly desirable for


future extension.

3. Software Specifications:-
Operating System:-Windows 98, 2000, XP,Vista and other
latest versions.

Language:- HTML, JSP .

4. Reports:
i. Customized report for tourists, businessmen, government

ii. Graphical representation of city’s historical data

iii. Survey reports for social researchers

5.Recommendations on Future:-
Improvement:
There is always room for improvement and the project we created
can also be improved. This is especially because we had to create
it within limited time.With more time, the project can be improved
to include security and different types of users. This was our
origin after-thought to programming the project.
