Experiences:

Counseling

I was a counsellor for Camp Bayouca where I learned the values of team work in ministry and how effective
discipleship starts with relationships. For the eight weeks I was there, I spent two weeks with the counselling
staff in training and learned various skills needed in camp counseling. I really enjoyed this part of the
summer because it helped me grow in Christ and it shaped how I approached ministry. For the next six
weeks I was heavily involved with campers ranging from 8 years old to eighteen. I also counseled for the
Special Jewels week where we minister to handicapped people whose age ranged from 8 to 80. During my
time at Bayouca I led worship, had campers make salvation to Christ decisions, as well as helping them
through difficult situations. I was a part of a daily discipleship group there where we talked about our
struggles and what God was showing us during that time. Camp Bayouca really established my desire to
serve in the ministry and it showed me that hard work does pay off. Those relationships that I made that
summer have impacted my life and some of these people I still maintain contact with.

I also counseled at Teen Leadership Conference for Clarks Summit University. Taking my experience from
Camp Bayouca, I really was able to pour Godly principles into the student’s lives here. This camp was more
focused on growing a Christian,s faith, but there still were people who ended up getting saved. With this
new focus, it really pushed me to search myself as a Christian and where I stand so that I could properly
disciple the students that were with me. This is where I learned that being open with people shows them
you are real. When the students saw that I was open with them, they were open with me. This opened
avenues of discipleship that would not have been possible. Many of the students that I counseled became
close friends at school later when they enrolled at the college I was attending (Summit University).

Missions/Evangelism

In 2015 I went with my church (West Windsor Baptist) on a short term missions trip to Peru. Our mission
was to aid our missionaries in their ministry and to help build a church. While there, I played on the worship
team and was on the drama team for their Team Conference for missionaries in Peru. We went through Lima
giving out tracks and evangelizing. I also helped lead a man to Christ on an airplane going there.

While at school, I served on the Student Missions Fellowship team as vice president and president. For the
three years while on the team we participated in door to door evangelizing, street evangelism, singing at
nursing homes, preaching, raking leaves for people, and helping at homeless shelters. As vice president I was
in charge of leading music at our bi-weekly meetings where we would go over announcements, sing and
have a speaker (usually a missionary) come in who talked about their missions work, after which we would
pray for them and their ministry. When I became the president, I was the person who chose the speakers
and organized our meetings. I spoke a few times on my experiences with missions, and also preached at the
local homeless shelter on the message of the Gospel (John 3:16). I was heavily involved with the
administrative side of SMF and it helped me grow in my organizational skills and we saw significant growth in
attendance (from 15 to 30 students, sometimes as many as 40) with the changes I made that year.

Preaching

The pastoral classes and experiences while studying at Clarks Summit University have developed my
preaching tremendously. Due to class scheduling, I had to take my Expository Preaching class as the only
sophomore with all Juniors, Seniors and Seminary students. I was chosen as one out of two students
selected to preach in chapel from our class. I have had several opportunities to preach in my Church and
while at school. I have a strong desire to speak the truth of God’s Word competently, effectively, and
dynamically.

Theatre

Ever since high school I have been part of theatre programs and I have seen how our creativity mirrors our
Creator’s creativity and gives glory to Him. While at Clarks Summit University I was in five plays (Importance
of Being Earnest, Peter and the Star Catcher, Emma, Much Ado About Nothing, and Alice in Wonderland) and
played a leading part in three of them. During the summer I played the character Hamlet for the theatre
company Ghostlight Production’s rendition of Hamlet. My theatre experience showed me the values of
creativity and how ministry desperately needs creative people. This also taught me to be comfortable in
front of crowds of people which has definitely helped my preaching. I also met my fiance through theatre, so
it has a special place in my life.

Internship

During the summer of 2018 I interned at my home church, West Windsor Baptist. Most of this internship I
spent shadowing our Senior Pastor and seeing what he does everyday. I helped set up our schedules for our
weekly services, picked worship music, spent time in meetings, and preached. I spent time evaluating classes
and observing how a church functions during the week. I participated as a leader in a number of youth group
events. This internship was effective in showing me the roles of a church functioning with two pastors and
how they work together.

Music

Ever since I was eight I have played music in church. As I developed as a musician I have learned how
effective music can be in ministry. I have experience leading worship teams and organizing music for specific
themes in a church service. I have sang for various talent shows at school, along with actively participating in
my home church with special music and worship team leading. I was in choir for my entire time at CSU and
sang for Heritage Church (Clarks Summit, Pa.) in their Christmas program.
