Applicants must be from Central Kitsap, Olympic, Eastside, KSS, or Westside Alternative High
School in the Central Kitsap School District. The scholarship provides various scholarships up to
$4,000 to seniors that have chosen post-secondary education at a college, university, or
technical/vocational school.

*Attach an official transcript with SAT/ACT scores plus class rank (vocational school applicants, please
provide any applicable test scores if other than SAT/ACT. *Include a copy of classes in which you are
currently enrolled.

Application must include:
1. *Essay – Whaling Days is a non profit organization that gives back to the community. On an
attached sheet of paper, briefly describe (500 words maximum) what activities and things you do
and have done for your community. Write about why you feel community involvement is an
important aspect of citizenship and what impact your involvement has had on your community.

2. *Two letters of recommendation with at least one of them being from a teacher (not a school
counselor) and one from a responsible adult who is aware of or part of your community
involvement.
This completed application must be returned to the address below and postmarked by **April 15, 2019.
