LESSON PLAN FORM

I. DESCRIPTION

GENERAL OBJECTIVE:
 To practice of a didactic way the different diphthong sounds and their pronunciation /eɪ/ /aɪ/ /aʊ/ /ɔɪ/

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
 To realize activities to improve the pronunciation of the diphthongs /eɪ/ /aɪ/ /aʊ/ /ɔɪ/
 To identify the diphthongs in the words /eɪ/ /aɪ/ /aʊ/ /ɔɪ/
TOPIC: Diphthongs
CONTENT(S):
Dynamic activities to practice the diphthongs in the class /eɪ/ /aɪ/ /aʊ/ /ɔɪ/
II. PROCEDURES
STAGE ACTIVITIES TIMING
The first activity begins with a greeting. Then, the teacher will organize two
PRE groups, dividing them through colored papers. Each group will look for different
papers according to the color that corresponded to their group, the papers will 8
be around the room. When each group finds all the papers, they will have to
order them to organize a sentence, in each paper there will be parts of the
sentence but these will be written in phonetic transcription. When each group
ends of organizing the sentence someone from each group should read the
sentence and recognize the diphthongs.
The sentences are:
 / təˈdeɪ aɪ wɪl baɪ ə tɔɪ æt ðə ˈdaʊnˈtaʊn/
 / ɔl maɪ tɔɪz broʊk daʊn ˈjɛstərˌdeɪ ænd aɪ wʌz sæd/.

Later, the same groups will have to number from 1 to 11. After that, the teacher
will say one of the numbers and the corresponding number of each group will
go to the center of the room and will hear a word twice, the first person to
understand the word must approach the teacher's table and squeeze a toy that
will be there; when the person squeezes the toy, writes and pronounces the 18
WHILE word that I hear; if the word is correct, they will earn a point, but if the word is
incorrect, the other person will have the opportunity and if he/she is right,
he/she will win the point.
The words are:
 Point, cow, price, date, hoist, high, mouth, taste, brown, brain, choice,
mice
For the last activity, each student will have under their chair a sheet of paper
where a word will be written and on the board will be shown the diphthong
sounds that the teacher is working for microteaching. Students should recognize
the diphthong sounds that are included in each word and, in addition, paste the
POST word on the board where it corresponds. 4
The words are:
 Shame, dynamic, shout, voice, ache, child, round, noise, take, style,
couch, join, able, private, owl, while, loud, toil, April, cloud, boil, radio.
