1.) Null Hypothesis H0 : The average of the satisfaction score of all customers µ19= 7.5.

Alt. Hypothesis H1 : µ19≠ 7.5

Sample average of the customer satisfaction = 6.918

So, by using the sample average the null hypothesis can be rejected as z= (6.918 –
7.5)*10/1.191839 = -4.88

Based on the sample information the Null Hypothesis (H0) can be revised as µ19= 9 and
then the alternative hypothesis will be H1 : µ19≠ 9

2.) Null Hypothesis H0 : The average score of all the customers on the HBAT product quality
µ6= 6.5.

Alt. Hypothesis H1 : µ6≠ 6.5

Sample average of the score on product quality = 7.810

So, by using the sample average the null hypothesis can be rejected as z= (7.810 –
6.5)*10/1.3963 = 9.38194

Based on the sample information the Null Hypothesis (H0) can be revised as µ19= 7 and
then the alternative hypothesis will be H1 : µ19≠ 7

3.) Null Hypothesis H0 : The proportion of all the customers who would consider a strategic
partnership p23 = 0.8.

Alt. Hypothesis H1 : p23≠ 0.8

Sample average of the proportion of the customer considering strategic partnership =

0.45

So, by using the sample average the null hypothesis can be rejected.

Based on the sample information the Null Hypothesis (H0) can be revised as p23= 0.9 and
then the alternative hypothesis will be H1 : p23≠ 0.9

4.) Null Hypothesis H0 : The average of the satisfaction score of all customers µ19= 7.

Alternate Hypothesis H1 : µ19≠ 7

Test Value = 7
95% Confidence Interval
Mean of the Difference
t df Sig. (2-tailed) Difference Lower Upper
X19 - Satisfaction -.688 99 .493 -.082 -.318 .154

Since probability of type-1 error α=0.493, which implies that the null hypothesis cannot be rejected. So, the test is inconclusive.

5.) Null Hypothesis H0 : The average score of all the customers on the HBAT product quality
µ6= 6.5.
Alternate Hypothesis H1 : µ6≠ 6.5

Test Value = 6.5

95% Confidence Interval
of the Difference
Mean
t df Sig. (2-tailed) Difference Lower Upper
X6 - Product Quality 9.382 99 .000 1.310 1.033 1.587

The probability of Type-1 error α is negligible, which implies that the null hypothesis can be
rejected very significantly.

6.) If a new variable Y19 is defined as Y19=1 if X19>=8 and Y19=0 if X19<8, that implies
variable Y19 is a binary variable with value 1 correspond to highly satisfied customer and
otherwise 0.

7.) Null Hypothesis H0 : The proportion of all the customer being highly satisfied (X19 >=8) p
=0.2.

Alt. Hypothesis H1 : p ≠ 0.2.

Sample size N=100 > 30

One-Sample Test

Test Value = 0.2

95% Confidence Interval of the
Difference

t df Sig. (2-tailed) Mean Difference Lower Upper

Y19 .244 99 .808 .01 -.07 .09

The significance level α = 0.808 is high enough, so null hypothesis cannot be rejected. The test is inconclusive.

8.) Null Hypothesis H0 : The proportion of all the customers who would consider a strategic
partnership p23 = 0.8.

Alt. Hypothesis H1 : p23≠ 0.8

One-Sample Test

Test Value = 0.8

Strategic Alliance

The significance level α is negligible, so the null hypothesis can be rejected very significantly. Also the t- value is negative, which shows
that less than 80% of the HBAT customers want to form the partnership.
