Introduction
Oracle Fusion HCM extract definitions specify how to extract HCM data from the database, transform
the extract results to the desired format (e.g., XML, PDF), and distribute the output by e-mail, fax, and
other delivery modes. As such, implementing customers use the facility heavily to tailor the delivered
product. Typically, customers create and test extract definitions in a test environment. After certifying
the definitions, customers then want to migrate extract definitions to the production environment for
live deployment in that environment. This document explains how you can achieve this migration
using the export/import capability provided with the Manage HCM extract definitions user interface.
Although the typical use case is to migrate extract definitions from a test environment to production,
the facility can migrate content from any environment to another.
Special Considerations
You must migrate HCM Extract Definitions one-at-a-time. No bulk migration capability is available.
The Production-to-test (P2T) content migration utility will migrate HCM extract definitions from the
production environment to the target environment along with all the other data it migrates.
Prerequisites
Create and certify HCM extract definitions in the source environment, typically a test or
development environment.
Ensure that the user who will migrate HCM extract definitions has access to either the Data
Exchange work area or the Setup and Maintenance work area.
