1 Overview
This document describes how to apply for a license of GENEX Probe and Assistant
V300R017C00 or a later version.
Table 1.1 lists the license control items of GENEX Probe V300R017C00, and Table 1.2
provides the configuration items of these license control items. Table 1.1 lists the license
control items of GENEX Assistant V300R015C00, and Table 1.2 provides the configuration
items of these license control items.

2 Obtaining the ESN
This chapter describes how to obtain the ESN before applying for a license of GENEX Probe
and Assistant V300R017C00.
2.1 Applying for the License for the First Time

Perform the following operations to obtain the ESN if you apply for the license for the first
time:
2. Install the Probe or Assistant software.
3. Plug the dongle into the USB port on the PC.
4. Start the Probe or Assistant. The dialog box shown in Figure 4.1 is displayed. Record the
value of ESN. (wibu)

2.2 Applying for the License for Capacity Expansion or

Upgrade
Perform the following operations to obtain the ESN if you apply for the license for capacity
expansion or upgrade:

5. Install the Probe or Assistant software.

6. Plug the dongle into the USB port on the PC. (For License Version, skip this step.)
7. Start the Probe or Assistant.
8. Choose Help > View ESN. The dialog box shown in Figure 8.1 is displayed. Record the
value of ESN.

9. Choose Help > License Info and get "Lock ID" (Only applicable to Sentinel SuperPro)

3 Applying for a Commercial

License
The process for applying for a commercial license consists of four parts: master process,
supplementary process, exception process, and prohibition clauses.
The license application procedure varies with scenarios. For details, see the following
attached documents.

4 Applying for a Non-Commercial License
Dongle edition license description:

If you have a Sentinel SuperPro(BOM:06080300), see section 4.1"Sentinel SuperPro License."
If you have a WIBU hard dog(BOM:06080345), see section 4.2"WIBU Hard Dog And Software License."
If you need a hard dog, apply for a WIBU hard dog. Sentinel SuperPro will stop maintenance.
To perform MS-MS speech quality evaluation tests on the Probe, you must apply for a
License including the speech quality evaluation module by following the instructions
provided in section 4.1.2"Application (Including the Speech Quality Evaluation Module)."
To perform MS/UE-PSTN speech quality evaluation tests on the Probe, you must apply for a
License including the speech quality evaluation module by following the instructions
provided in section 4.1.2" GENEX SQE Server Speech Quality Evaluation Module License."
4.1 Sentinel SuperPro License

The target user of internally applied license is Huawei engineers.
4.1.1 Application (Excluding the Speech Quality Evaluation

Module)
Step 2 Press Ctrl and click the following URL to log in to the license platform by using the user
account and click Non Platform License Application:
http://w3.huawei.com/dominoapp/isc/license/bulletin.nsf

Step 3 Choose New Application > Non-Commercial License.

Step 4 Fill in Non Platform Non-Commercial license Application.
Items with the asterisk (*) must be filled.
(1) Reference No.: indicates the application number.

(2) Guide: indicates the Help document. You can click it to view the Help document.
(3) Genex License: If you select Yes, it indicates that you apply for a GENEX license.
(4) Use Type: indicates the license use type. Set Use Type to Internal using.
(5) Product Line: indicates the product line. Set Product Line to Wireless Network.

(6) Regional Division: indicates the region where the applicant is located. This item must be
set.
(7) Apply type: indicates the application type.
(8) Network System: indicates the network system. You can select one or multiple network
systems.
(9) Project: indicates the project. You must manually specify it.
(10) Country: indicates the country.
(11) Approver: indicates the direct supervisor.
(12) Genex representative: indicates the PDU director. It is a system configuration item. (the
GENEX representative should handle the application within three working days. In case of
emergency, contact the corresponding secretary to notify of the GENEX representative.)
(13) Application Reason: indicates the application reason.
(14) Add: enables you to add one row.

(15) Del: enables you to delete one row.
(16) Product Name: indicates the product name.

(17) ESN Code: indicates the electronic serial number (ESN) code. Note that the ESN code
must be filled in completely.
(18) Lock ID: For the license edition, fill the ESN code in Lock ID. For the dongle edition,
fill in four digits, four letters or combination of digits and letters. For details, see chapter
2"Obtaining the ESN."
(19) Notes Address: indicates the notes address of the applicant.
If the employee ID is a five-digit number, fill in 5-digit number@notesmail.huawei.com
directly.

If the employee ID is a six-digit number, prefix 00 before the employee ID, that is, 8-digit
number@notesmail.huawei.com
Note that only Huawei engineers can apply for the license.
(20) E-mail Address: indicates the email address. Only Huawei email addresses are
supported.
(21) Application duration(days): indicates the validity period of the newly applied license.
The filled value must be digits. For example, the longest validity period of the dongle edition
is 365 days and the longest validity period of the license edition is 180 days.

4.1.2 Application (Including the Speech Quality Evaluation

Module) Only for Probe
Speech Quality Evaluation Module License is suit for three test items in Probe as below:
Sync SQE(MS-MS)、Async SQE(MS-MS)、SQE(MS-PSTN/ISDN)
To perform MS/UE-PSTN speech quality evaluation tests, you must apply for License for
GENEX SQE Server(see chapter4.3).
1. Submit an internal demand contract electronic workflow to apply for the PESQ and POLQA
algorithm algorithm License.

The MOS test module in the Probe and Assistant uses the PESQ and POLQA algorithm of
Psytechnics.
PESQ BOM code: 05330178 Predicted unit price: $1250 per License
POLQA BOM code: 05330930 Predicted unit price: €2000 per License

If users want to use the POLQA algorithm, after the e-Flow of Inter-Company Fixed Asset
Application is submitted, an email from the agent will be received. In the email, the person
managing OPTICOM accounts is mentioned. Contact the person to obtain the POLQA
algorithm license.
2. After the PESQ or POLQA algorithm algorithm License being applied, please apply for Probe
License as chapter4.1.1. Please give the contact number of applying for PESQ or POLQA
algorithm License in Remark.
3. If PESQ algorithm algorithm License, please update Probe License as introduction.
If POLQA algorithm algorithm License, please update POLQA License after updating Probe
License.

4.2 WIBU Hard Dog And Software License
To perform MS/UE-PSTN or MS-MS speech quality evaluation tests on the Probe, you must apply for a
license including the speech quality evaluation module by following the instructions provided in section
4.2.2"Application (Including the Speech Quality Evaluation Module)."
4.2.1 Application (Excluding the Speech Quality Evaluation

Module)
1. If the non-commercial license application permission is not applied, apply for the non-
commercial license platform permission by following the instructions .
Login account: employee W3 account
Click the following link:

Apply for the non-commercial License application permission based on Huawei standard
procedure.
Note: "commercial" used in the License application description indicates the License platform
rather than the License file to be applied. Strictly follow the procedure to apply for a non-
commercial License.
2. If you have obtained the permission or already have the permission, click the following
link directly:
http://license/huawei/login.do
After the login, select Download Commissioning License in the left pane, as shown in the
following figure:

Set the application type, as shown the following figure.

4.2.2 Application (Including the Speech Quality Evaluation

Module) Only for Probe
Speech Quality Evaluation Module License is suit for three test items in Probe as below:

After the login, select Download Commissioning License in the left pane, as shown in the
following figure:

Set the application type, as shown the following figure.

Fill in the application reason, as shown in the following figure. Ensure that the contract
number of the license for which the PESQ or POLQA algorithm is purchased is filled in.
After the submission is complete, you can view the approver in the electronic workflow.
Capture a screenshot of the application contract electronic workflow and send it to the
approver by email.
3. If PESQ algorithm algorithm License, it had be intergrated in Probe License. And please
update Probe License as introduction.
If POLQA algorithm algorithm License, please update POLQA License after updating Probe
License.
4.3GENEX SQE Server Speech evaluation module License

If you want to do PSTN/ISDN speech evaluation test , Two license is necessary , one for the GENEX SQE Server
used and one for GENEX Probe.
GENEX SQE Server license application process is the same with GENEX Probe speech evaluation,please see
section 4.1.2 .
License platform without GENEX SQE Server product options, please select the Probe during application, in a
Remark that apply for GENEX SQE Server License.

Description
License control in the Probe is available only during tests with external terminals being
connected and does not take effect when users replay or export data.

Theme Report
Except the CW Test and MOS Speech Quality Evaluation modules, other modules are
distinguished by RAT and a module controls terminal and data display for the corresponding
RAT. The CW Test module controls CW test items of scanners, and the MOS Speech Quality
Evaluation module controls MOS test items. TD-SCDMA module license is not independent
control terminal. PSTN is a product launch bundled voice testing tools.
Generally, it is recommended to apply for all license modules except the MOS Speech Quality
Evaluation module (which can be applied for if when necessary).
If a module is not applied during license application, it is not displayed in License Info. The
module in Invalid state in License Info is no longer used in the Probe or Assistant and is
incorrectly selected during license generation. The license can be properly used.

3 Related
Terms
This chapter provides definitions of the following license terms:

 License: refers to a contract signed by vendors and customers. A license is provided by
vendors to customers to grant customers permissions to use the product. It defines the
application scope and validity period of the product. It also determines which services
the vendors need to provide for the customers. Physically, a license is represented as a
license certificate and a license file.
 License file: refers to an authorized file that determines the capacity and function
services of a product. After being generated by a professional tool according to the
requirements for the product key and the contract information, the license file is then
delivered to customers as an electronic document.
 Commercial license: refers to a license that is delivered to customers based on a specific
contract such as the sales contract, donation contract, beta test contract, or loan contract.
A certificate of the commercial license must be delivered to customers. The license is
delivered to customers as an electronic document.
 ESN: refers to the electronic serial number of a product. It is a character string that
uniquely identifies a product.
 Dongle: refers to a hardware device that grants users the permissions to use the Probe or
Assistant. The license information is written into the dongle. Therefore, before using the
Probe or Assistant, users must connect the dongle to the PC.

5 FAQ
1. Q: After the software is started, why is the following dialog box displayed and no ESN is
available?
A: This problem occurs when the dongle is not identified properly or the dongle is not
inserted into the USB port on the PC. Insert the dongle into the USB port on the PC if
the dongle is not inserted.
2. Q: Can the licenses of the Probe and the Assistant share one dongle?
A: The Probe and the Assistant are independent from each other, and you need to apply
for their respective licenses.
Then, use the Probe and the Assistant to update the license files for the Probe and the
Assistant into the dongle, respectively, to enable the Probe and the Assistant to share one
dongle.
3. Q: Why is the Wibu dongle not identified by the HuaWei’PC installed SPES and CPM?
A: SPES and CPM disabled the Wibu Dongle.It is recommended that HuaWei enginern
use software license instead and Non-HuaWei engineer use Non-HuaWei PC.
