Passing the Multiple-choice section of English 6-12, the Multiple-choice section of Middle Grades English 5-9, any other Subject
Area Examination, the Professional Education Test, and the multiple-choice subtests of the General Knowledge Test requires a
scale score of 200 or higher on each. Passing the General Knowledge Essay, the English 6-12 Written Performance Section, or
the Middle Grades English 5-9 Written Performance Section requires an essay score of 8 or higher. If the General Knowledge
Essay subtest was taken prior to January 1, 2015 an essay score of 6 or higher is the minimum passing score for that attempt.

INTERPRETING YOUR SCORE REPORT
GENERAL INFORMATION
The results of your Florida Teacher Certification Examinations (FTCE) appear on the first page of this score report. For each
test or subtest listed, the “Status” column in each table will indicate one of the following:
“Pass” indicates a passing score.
“Not Pass” and a numeric scale score indicate a non-passing score.
“Pending” indicates that, for tests being redeveloped/revised, or for tests with performance assessment
components, the status is not yet available. For a test with a “Pending” status, an updated score report will be
issued after scoring of the redeveloped/revised test or performance assessment component is complete.
“Not Taken” (Cumulative Results section only) indicates that the test has never been taken.

UNDERSTANDING EACH SECTION OF YOUR SCORE REPORT

Current Test Administration Results provides information about any test taken during the score reporting cycle ending on
the date indicated by “Score Report Date.” The “Administration Date” column in this table indicates the date upon which
the test or subtest was taken.
Cumulative Results provides the following cumulative information:
A list of all Subject Area Examinations which you have passed as of the score reporting date;
Your status (“Pass,” “Not Pass,” “Pending,” or “Not Taken”) on each of the General Knowledge subtests as of the
score reporting date; and
Your status (“Pass,” “Not Pass,” “Pending,” or “Not Taken”) on the Professional Education Test as of the score
reporting date.
If you have taken at least one of the subtests of the German, Elementary Education, or Primary/PK-3 exams during the
score reporting cycle ending on the date indicated by “Score Report Date,” your status on each subtest is also provided.
Similarly, if you have taken at least one section of the English or Middle Grades English exams, your status on both the
multiple-choice and the written performance sections is provided.
The “Administration Date” column in this table indicates the date upon which the test, test section, or subtest was passed
or, for tests not yet passed, the date on which the test, test section, or subtest was taken.
Detailed Performance Analysis
For each test or subtest in the Current Test Administration Results for which your status was “Not Pass” and the associated
test date was July 1, 2013 or later, a Detailed Performance Analysis report is provided on the following pages of this score
report. This section provides information to allow you analyze your performance by applicable competency and to compare
your results to those of other examinees who have taken the test or subtest. The following information is provided for each
competency area assessed by multiple-choice items:
“Number of Items” – the number of scorable test questions;
“Your % Correct” – the percent of scorable test questions you answered correctly; and
“Average % Correct” – the average percentage correct for the examinees who have taken the test in the past one
year.
If you did not pass the constructed-response section of a test, your score on the essay and the average score for the
examinees who have taken the constructed-response section of the test in the past one year are provided.
NOTE: If the number of examinees in the “past one year” is less than 200, the average percentage correct/average score is
calculated based on examinee scores from the past four years.
NOTE: Detailed performance analyses also provide average percentage correct/average scores that show how well other
examinees performed in the subject area. The average percentage correct/average score should not be used as a criterion
on how well you need to perform to pass the subject. It only provides information on how your performance compares to
other examinees.
NOTE: Some test questions may be added to a test to gather data for potential use on future test forms. These test
questions do not count toward your score. The number of scorable test questions refers to the number of questions that
were used to compute your score.
