Drifting Diagonals (multiple of 12 sts + 1)
Note: When working the Drifting Diagonals patt, stitches can be ch sts or dc sts.
Row 1 (RS): Ch 3 (counts as 1st dc throughout), *dc in next 6 sts, [ch 2, sk 2 sts, dc in next st] twice; rep from
* across, turn
Row 2: Ch 3, *ch 2, sk 2 sts, dc in next 7 sts, ch 2, sk 2 sts, dc in next st; rep from * across, turn.
Row 3: Ch 3, *[ch 2, sk 2 sts, dc in next st] twice, dc in next 6 sts; rep from * across, turn.
Row 4: Ch 3, *dc in next 3 sts, [ch 2, sk 2 sts, dc in next st] twice, dc in next 3 sts; rep from * across, turn.
Rep Rows 1-4 for pat.
PATTERN NOTES
Tee is worked in 2 identical pieces for Front and Back. Tee is designed for 4-6” of positive ease, with a large
open Neck opening designed to drape over shoulder.
Work in Drifting Diagonals patt, starting with Row 1, until piece measures 15 (15½, 15½, 15½)” from beg-ch.
Sleeves
At the beg of next 2 rows, ch 27 (includes ch 3 for beg of patt row), then beg working patt in 4th ch from hk
– 121 (133, 145, 157) sts, 10 (11, 12, 13) patt repeats across row.
Continue to work even in patt until piece measures 20 (21, 21½, 22)” from beg-ch.
Shape Neck
First Shoulder
Next Row: Ch 3 and work 3 reps of patt (36 sts), turn leaving remainder of row unworked.
Working across these 37 sts only, continue in patt until piece measures 22 (23, 23½, 24)”. Fasten off.
Second Shoulder
Rejoin yarn 3 pattern repeats (37 sts) from edge.
Next Row: Ch 3 and work 3 reps of patt (36 sts), turn.
Working across these 37 sts only, continue in patt until piece measures 22 (23, 23½, 24)”. Fasten off.
FINISHING
Sew Shoulder seams, sew Sleeve and side seams.
Sleeve Cuffs
Rnd 1 (RS): Join yarn at Sleeve seam, ch 1, work approx. 56 (60, 64, 68) sc around Sleeve, sl st in 1st sc to
join.
Rnds 2-6: Ch 1, sc in each sc around, sl st in 1st sc to join.
Fasten off.
Repeat for opposite Sleeve.
Neck Edging
Rnd 1 (RS): Join yarn at Shoulder seam, ch 1, work approx. 128 (152, 176, 200) sc around Neck opening, sl
st in 1st sc to join.
Rnds 2-6: Ch 1, sc in each sc around, sl st in 1st sc to join.
Fasten off.
Weave in ends.
