STANDARD 1.1.3 Able to listen to, say aloud and recite rhymes, tongue twisters and sing songs paying
attention to pronunciation, rhythm and intonation
By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to;
OBJECTIVE i. Recite and perform poems with guidance paying attention to pronunciation, rhythm and
intonation
1. Teacher recalls previous lesson
2. Teacher put up a poem chart (as on Textbook, page 16) on the board
3. Teacher shows picture cards and asks the pupils to match the pictures with the correct
stanza
ACTIVITY
4. Pupils read the poem without using rhythm and intonation
5. Teacher teaches the pupils to recite the poem with correct pronunciation, rhythm and
intonation
6. Divide class into four groups and guide them to prepare for their performance
