Crochet Pattern Snake Plant

Materials:
• 2 balls Rico Creative Cotton Aran
Brown (58 sts.)
• 2 balls Rico Essentials Cotton dk
Emerald (45 sts.)

Darning needle with a sharp tip

Small little flowerpots ø 7cm, 7cm high

Crochet Pattern Soil
For all the succulents the soil is made the same way. Use crochet hook no. 3,5mm Rico Creative
Cotton Aran Brown. Start at the top of the soil.
Round 1: Sc. 6 in a magic ring or start the following way; ch. 2, sc. 6 in the first ch. Sl.st. 1 in the first
sc. such that you get a round of 6 sts. (6 sts.)
Round 2: Sc. 2 in each st. (12 sts.)
Round 3: Sc. 2 in each 2nd st. (18 sts.)
Round 4: Sc. 1. *Sc. 2 in the next st., sc. 2*. Repeat from *to* until the end of the round but end with
sc. 1 (24 sts.)
Round 5: Sc. 2 in each 4th st. (30 sts.)
Round 6: Sc 2. *Sc. 2 in the next st., sc 4*. Repeat from *to* until the end of the round but end with
sc. 2 (36 sts.)
Round 7: Sc. 2 in each 6th st. (42 sts.)
Round 8: Work this round in the back loops such that single loops are being created on the outside of
your work. Sc. 42 (42 sts.)
Round 9: Decrease 6 sts. Sc. each 6th and 7th st. tog. (36 sts.)
Round 10: Decrease 6 sts. Sc. each 5th and 6th st. tog. (30 sts.)
Rounds 11 & 12: Sc. 30 each round (30 sts.)
Round 13: Decrease 6 sts. Sc. each 4th and 5th st. tog. (24 sts.)
Round 14 - 18: Sc. 24 each round (24 sts.)
Round 19: Decrease 6 sts. Sc. each 3rd and 4th st. tog. (18 sts.) Stuff your work firmly.
Round 20: Decrease 6 sts. Sc. each 2nd and 3rd st. tog (12 sts.)
Round 21: Decrease 6 sts. Sc. each 2 sts. tog. (6 sts.) Cast off and draw your end yarn through the last
6 sts. for closing the little hole. Weave in the ends.
Cast on a new yarn at the outside loops of round 8. Insert your hook from top to bottom. Sl.st. 42.
Cast off and weave in the ends.

Crochet Pattern Snake Plant
This plant is made out of 7 leaves. Make all leaves first and then attach them to the soil. The leaves
for this plant are made in rows. After each row tch. 1 to turn your work. This ch. does not count as a
stitch.

Leaf 1:
Work with Rico Essentials Cotton dk Emerald.
Row 1: Ch. 2. Sc. 2 in the first ch. (2 sts.)
Row 2: Sc. 1, sc. 2 in the last st. (3 sts.)
Row 3: Sc. 2, sc. 2 in the last st. (4 sts.)
Row 4: Sc. 3, sc. 2 in the last st. (5 sts.)
Row 5: Sc. 4, sc. 2 in the last st. (6 sts.)
Row 6 - 27: Sc. 6 each row (6 sts.)
Row 28: Sc. the first and last 2 sts. tog. (4 sts.)
Rows 29 - 31: Sc. 4 (4 sts.) Cast off.
Make another leaf the same way. Put the leaves on top of each other and cut a piece of iron wire.
You’re going to join two separate parts using sc. with the iron wire in between. Cast on a new yarn of
Pistachio at the bottom of a leaf. Insert your hook through both leaves and work sc. around the iron
wire. At the point at the top ch. 2, sl.st 1 in the 1st ch. for a nice tip.

Leaf 2:
Rows 1 – 5: Repeat rows 1 - 5 of the first leaf.
Rows 6 - 30: Sc. 6 each row (6 sts.)
Row 31: Sc. the first and last 2 sts. tog. (4 sts.)
Rows 32 - 34: Sc. 4 in each row (4 sts.) Cast off.
Make another leaf the same way. Put the leaves on top of each other and cut a piece of iron wire.

Finishing
Fold your first leaf a little bit together at the bottom. Fold the second leaf around it and sew it at the
bottom. Do the same for the other leaves. Sew the whole plant in the middle of the soil with a few
small stitches.
