General Objectives

This seminar is aimed at enhancing the computer literacy of the AB Political

Science 4th-year students in the following Microsoft Office programs such as: Microsoft

Excel and Microsoft Publisher. The aforementioned Microsoft Office programs are

widely perceived as the essential tools in order to make the necessary documents in the

office. The main purpose of which is to make certain that the students will be able to

gain necessary computer knowledge and skills in preparation for their Practicum (OJT)

in their respective work office. The main objective of the proposed seminar is to tutor the

students on the fundamental and the most important skills in making office documents.

This will help the students in doing their assigned work because not only it makes them

knowledgeable about the subject matter but it also increases their competence.

Specfic Objectives

Specifically, this seminar is aimed at providing the AB Political Science 4 th-year students

to gain knowledge and skills about the following in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft

Publisher:

 To orient the students on the parts of a worksheet.

 To teach the students on how to create formulas needed in making accurate

calculations in Microsoft Excel.

 To teach the students on how to organize and analyze data in the worksheet.

 To teach the students on how to graph and chart data in Microsoft Excel.

 To teach the students on how proper printing is done in Microsoft Excel.

 To give the students tips and shortcuts which can be used in Microsoft Office like

the function key-strokes.

 To orient the students about the functions and feature of Microsoft Publisher.

 To teach the students on how to format publications.

 To teach the students on the shortcuts in making publications.

 To teach the students about the function of every tool in Microsoft Publisher.
