SNAP CONVENTION
NOVEMBER 14TH – 16TH
This November, DUSNA students traveled to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania for the 66th Annual SNAP
Conference. It was a very eventful time for DUSNA. Seniors Jenna Kessler, Katie Hurley, Adam
Bilodeau, Bryan Schaffer, Toni Dzinic, and Riya Ram competed in the NCLEX Bowl, unfortanetly
we were not returning champions but we will get em next year! At the Awards Banquet DUSNA
was presented with two awards for outstanding membership and outstanding Newsletter! Jenna
Kessler was also presented with two awards; the Leader of Tomorrow Award and the Rena M.
Lawrence Award. Three ambitious Drexel students raan for positions on the Snap board. Ryan
Chiasson ran for Secretary/Treasurer, Kelsey Beck ran for NEC East, and Karlee Neuser ran for
Central Philadelphia. While no one won they all did there very best and it was a close race; we
were very proud of the courage demonstrated. Jenna Kessler and Katie Hurley stepped down
from there postions on the state board! We sure will miss them next year. Adam Bilodeau and
Madison Schmus got our resolution passed and it will move on to National Convention. Alexis
Rebock met Terry Foster from Untold Stories of the ER and she is still fangirling, Adam Bilodeau
and Corey Lewis are still laughing at his presentation. It was a very good experience for all and
I am very proud of all the Drexel Dragons!

MEET THE
EDITORS
Jessica Pignatelli
Junior, 4 Year Co-Op
Main PR Contact: jmp539@drexel.edu
Jess is from Jamison, Pennsylvania. She chose nursing because she wanted a career that
involved helping people. Jess ran for Public Relations Chair because she wanted to get more
members actively involved in DUSNA. She is currently on co-op at Children’s Hospital of
Philadelphia in the PCU. Jess is on the Dragon Recruitment Team and a member of Gamma
Sigma Sigma.

Grace Caldwell
Junior, 4 Year Co-Op
Grace is from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She chose Drexel after taking a tour of the CNHP
campus. She realized the opportunities Drexel Nursing would create for her. Grace is currently
on co-op at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in their transplant unit. She spends her days off
working hard as the Vice President of Gamma Sigma Sigma (a service sorority).

Katherine Drury
Pre-Junior, 4 Year Co-Op
Katie is from Wyckoff, New Jersey, and a transfer student at Drexel. Originally, she studied
Neuroscience at The College of the Holy Cross but realized that she wanted to go into nursing
after shadowing different healthcare professionals. She made the decision to come to Drexel
for nursing because of its notable program and the vast opportunities in Philadelphia hospitals.
She is passionate about healthcare and looks forward to helping those in need.

Josephine Gonzalez
Sophomore, 5 Year Co-Op
Josie is from Los Angeles, California. Choosing to pursue a career in nursing was a decision
made after taking part in a medical internship allowing her to travel to India and shadow
doctors in all units of the hospital. After her trip, she was able to solidify her decision to attend
nursing school. She chose Drexel after learning about the great opportunities that not only
Drexel, but Philadelphia has to offer. She hopes to work in Pediatric Emergency Medicine post-
graduation and further her education to obtain her master’s degree and become an NP.

Joshua Feidt
Sophomore, 4 Year Co-Op
Josh is from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. His choice to attend Drexel University was driven by
Philadelphia’s inclusive culture and advanced cooperative opportunities. Following the
footsteps of his two older sisters, Joshua chose Nursing for his desire to help and care for the
sick. Nursing to him is more than job stability, it is a passion and self-rewarding lifestyle.
