Goal
The student is trained to become an aircraft mechanic or maintenance technician, GWK CAT
A/B1/B2 i.a.w. EASA Part 66 or rules of other states or Commonwealth of Nations.

The training course


The course covers 42 months including the apprenticeship period. Apprenticeship period is
calculated to approximately 6 months. 17 Modules shall be examined by the EASA state.

Apprenticeship goals
During the apprenticeship period the student must:
1. Make a weekly report and hand this over at the end of each month to the coordinator for
review and signing.
2. Learn and experience how to work in a team.
3. Develop his/her communication skills
4. Understand and describe the structure of the AMO (company) and its compliance with the
EASA.
5. Develop the necessary skills in using basic tools and equipment.
6. Comply with the practical assessment checklist as far as possible with the company.
7. Finish 3 new school practical projects related to the practical curriculum and within the
possibilities of the apprenticeship place.

Guide to the weekly reporting


The student must write out that in the space of at least 25% of an A4 and the following
information’s:
 What were the working hours,
 Description of all the work done,
 Did you work alone or as a team,
 What were your experiences, was the job difficult or easy
 What did you learn,
 What was the relation with the jobs done and what you did learn in school,
 Describe the difficult part of the job(s) done during the week

 If you had used schematics or other information’s you may add them to your report

Tips for the coordinator

 Maintain good coordination between you and the student;


 Motivate the student;
 Give a good compliment now and then;
 Be a role model for the student;
 Avoid negative remarks when correcting the student;
 Be motivated yourself;
 Take advantage of the good abilities of the student;
 Correct the short comings of the student;
 Be open and honest with the student;
 Formulate and express yourself adequately to the student;
 Be a good guide to the student, avoid to much authority;

Rules and Responsibilities


The student
1. During the apprenticeship period of the student he or she is falling completely under the
responsibility of the MBO-SGB, Bonaire.
2. The student is obligated to comply with all the rules and regulations of the
company for what is concerned the security, safety, public health and company secrecy. He
or she must follow all instruction ordered by the company.
3. In the event that the student gets sick or else and cannot go to work, he or she must
notify the apprenticeship coordinator on site or the school, immediately. In case of
sickness he or she must hand over a letter from the doctor.
4. The days that the student had missed must be planned as soon as possible to catch
up with. Any absence may not exceed 20% of the total apprentice ship period.
5. The student must follow all the instructions of the apprenticeship on site. In case of
any misunderstanding between those two persons, the company shall notify the school.
6. In case of any dispute that may arise during the apprenticeship, the student will primarily
contact the Apprenticeship coordinator in the Company. If necessary, the Apprenticeship
Coordinator of the Company will submit the dispute to the Apprentice Trajectory
Guidance.

The Company
As a mutual understanding between MBO-SGB and the company, the company shall make it
possible for the student to practice as an apprentice aircraft mechanic. The student shall be
given the opportunity to participate in all the sections of the AMO as stipulated in the
apprenticeship guide.

Apprenticeship coordinator in the company


The company shall appoint an apprenticeship coordinator. At the end of the apprenticeship
period the apprenticeship coordinator shall evaluate the student in writing in accordance with
the apprenticeship guide.
The school may also appoint a representative on site (Where ever the company is situated) to
coordinate with company coordinator.

Apprentice Trajectory Guidance


The student trajectory guidance is the responsibility of the school, represented by the director. The
director may appoint a coordinator on site, if the apprenticeship company is not situated in
Bonaire.

Introduction

This document is created to record and certify the practical assessment training on the respective
aircraft and meets the requirements of the school curriculum.

The format of this document is made in a manner that it is applicable for students undertaking
their training course. However, this same document is used for other students after amendment by
the Quality Assurance manager.

The director of the school or his representative will amend the document on a case-by-case basis,
taken into account the following factors:
- Experience on other aircraft types
- The quantity of the practical experience;
- The quality of the practical experience;
- Previous documented verified experience.

Actual amendment will be by the insertion of ‘N.A.’ in the ‘Aircraft’ column and sign / stamp in
the end column.

Tasks marked with an asterix (*) must be complied with, as far as possible, during the apprentice
period. The remaining task may serve as proof of the practical assessment record when requesting
aviation mechanic licenses.

Completion of some tasks can be in simulation if there is no opportunity to perform the actual
item, both instructor and student have to be satisfied that the knowledge and practical ability to
perform the tasks is to full satisfaction. The student must sign at the end of every completed page.

Throughout the apprentice period reference must be made to the relevant AMM, IPC, or other
documentation as applicable to the particular task being assessed. The Training Coordinator is
responsible for the contents of this document and when fully completed has to be returned to the
Training Coordinator.

The end-column signature/stamp must hold the appropriate authorization as issued by the quality
assurance manager. The end-column can be completed in any one of the three ways, these are as
follows:

- By successful completion of the task.


- By positive verification of documentation demonstrating that the task has been completed on a
previous occasion.
- By the task being not applicable (see above).

Definitions applicable to the task records can be found on page 23 of this document.

The following definitions shall apply to this document:

Subject – This relates to a part of a sub-system or a general activity of which the student should
have an adequate knowledge. For example: A temperature sensor or a heavy landing inspection.

Task – The following terminology is used:

Location– This applies to the physical ‘pointing-out’ of the component(s) as described in the
subject matter.

Meaning – This applies to a detailed explanation of the subject matter.

Operate – This applies to a user operational check of the given subject.

R / R – This applies to the removal and replacement of the subject component(s).

Use of – This requires a demonstration of the knowledge of the subject matter.

Participate – This requires a physical and active involvement of the subject matter.

Inspection – This is the physical action of the subject matter.

Perform – This is the physical action of the subject matter.

Aircraft – This should detail aircraft operator and registration.

Date, Sign / Stamp – Known as the end-column, this should be filled out upon completion of the
task by the duly authorized assessor.

Verwijzing naar niveau 4: Technician Avionica en Technician Mechanica??? Wat is het verschil?
Wat doet de een niet en de ander wel???

Even snel een uitleg; De achtergrond voor het opzetten van de school is om een
vliegtuigonderhouds technicus (nivo 4) op te leiden. (Naar de vraag in de Regio) Het eindresultaat
moet een technicus worden die zowel B1 (Mechanica) als B2 (Avionica) beheerst, met de nodige
kennis in de organisatie (AMO) en leiding gevende functies op dat gebied. Ons nivo 3 beheerst
alleen B1. 75% van de modules geld voor beiden. Dus onze nivo 4 is B1/B2 (alle 17 modules) We
kunnen ook zeggen nivo 4+..................... met 4 tot 6 jaren ervaring in de field (hangt af hoe snel
hij de lijst kan onderteken), kan hij zijn licentie vragen en dan wordt hij/zij een “Aircraft
maintenance engineer” of GWK (Grondwertuigkundige).

Dit is goed voor mij.
