“RESOLUTION NO. 2011-182
RESOLUTION RESPECTFULLY REQUESTING HONORABLE PROCESO J.
ALCALA, SECRETARY OF THE DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE TO ALLOCATE
FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF THREE MILLION PESOS (P3,000,000.00) FOR THE
CONCRETING OF A FARM-TO MARKET ROAD AT BARANGAY BACHAO NORTE,
KALIBO, AKLAN
WHEREAS, Barangay Bachao Norte is both coastal and island agricultural area which has
vegetables, root crops, poultry, livestock and marine fishing as their source of livelihood;
WHEREAS, the Local Government Unit of Kalibo in the development plan identified the need to
improve/develop barangay road network in the sixteen barangays of Kalibo, particularly the farm-to-
market road which is in consonance with the various programs and priority projects of the government
that contribute to the social and economic growth of the community;
WHEREAS, in support to the medium-term agricultural development plan which envisions our
country’s global competitiveness and people’s empowerment, there is a need for the concreting of a
farm-to-market road to ensure the participation of farmers in attaining maximum agricultural productivity
and food security;
WHEREAS, the concreting of a farm-to-market road in the aforesaid barangay will provide
efficient and convenient land transportation to farmers and fisher folks to sustain economic growth and
uplift the social condition of the general public;
WHEREAS, farm-to-market roads are one among the contributing factors in ensuring food and
economic security and sustainability;
NOW THEREFORE, in view of the foregoing premises, upon motion made by Hon. Ariel O.
Fernandez and Hon. Rodillo L. Policarpio, duly seconded, be it RESOLVED as it is hereby RESOLVED
to respectfully request Honorable Proceso J. Alcala, Secretary of the Department of Agriculture to
allocate funds in the amount of Three Million Pesos (P3, 000,000.00) for the concreting of a farm-to
market road at Barangay Bachao Norte, Kalibo, Aklan;
RESOLVED FINALLY, to furnish copy of this Resolution to Honorable Secretary Proceso J.
Alcala of the Department of Agriculture, Punong Barangay Maribeth V. Cual of Barangay Bachao Norte
and other agencies, offices concerned for their information and appropriate action;
