- To recite poems from the poet's work in Romanian and English / Sa recite poezii din opera
poetului in limba romana si in engleza;
- To translate verses from the poet's work into Romanian / Sa traduca versuri din opera poetului
in limba romana.
At the end of the lesson SWBAT: / La finalul lectiei elevii vor putea sa:
- recognise some of Shakespeare’s poems / recunoasca unele poezii ale lui Shakespeare;
- identify the new words and understand their meanings / identifice cuvinte noi si sa le
inteleaga sensurile;
- develop general knowledge about poetry / isi dezvolte cultura generala legata de poezie.
- to create a warm atmosphere in order to offer the background for smooth, easy conversations
between teacher and students; / - sa se creeze o atmosfera calda pentru a oferi fundal pentru
conversații ușoare între profesor și elevi;
- to give pupils confidence in their ability to use the English language; / - sa se dea incredere
elevilor în capacitatea lor de a folosi limba engleză;
- to give students an active role in the process of teaching/ learning; /- sa se ofere studenților un
rol activ în procesul de predare / învățare;

- students are familiar with notions about poetry in the English language and they are eager to
find out more things about this issue. / - elevii sunt familiarizați cu noțiunile despre poezie în
limba engleză și sunt dornici să afle mai multe despre acest subiect.

Marin Sorescu’s SHAKESPEARE poem short literary analysis – Scurta analiza literara a
poeziei lui Marin Sorescu SHAKESPEARE
OBJECTIVES / OBIECTIVE:
- to translate a part of Marin Sorescu’s poem into English / sa traduca o parte din poezia lui
Marin Sorescu in limba engleza;
-to answer some literary questions about the poem; / sa raspunda la intrebari literare despre
poezie;
- to solve literary tasks related to the poem. / sa rezolve cerinte de tip literar, legate de poezie.
- the following poem by Marin Sorescu is given to the students and in groups, using
dictionaries, they translate the first 13 rows into Romanian; / urmatoarea poezie scrisa de
marin Sorescu este data elevilor si li se cere ca in grupuri, utilizand dictionarele, sa
traduca in limba romana primele 13 versuri;

- students are given some literary questions about the poem and they have to answer them
individually. At the end, they read and confront their answers. / - elevilor li se adreseaza intrebari
de natura literara despre poezia de mai sus iar ei trebuie sa raspunda in mod individual. La final,
elevii citesc si impartasesc raspunsurile.
1. How do you think Shakespeare could teach Hamlet, Julius Caesar, Anthony,
Cleopatra, and Ofelia, the taste of happiness, love, despair, and jealousy? / Cum
credeţi că a putut Shakespeare să-i înveţe pe Hamlet, Iulius Caesar, Antoniu,
Cleopatra, Ofelia, gustul fericirii, al iubirii, al deznădejdii, al geloziei?
2. What do you know about Hamlet? What character replica was celebrated? / Ce ştiţi
despre Hamlet? Ce replică a personajului a rămas celebră?
3. Why is Shakespeare's work challenged? / De ce este contestată opera lui
Shakespeare?
4. What impression left the last four verses of poetry? / Ce impresie v-au lăsat ultimele
patru versuri ale poeziei?

OBJECTIVES / OBIECTIVE:
- to write a paragraph giving their personal opinion on a subject related to the theme/ sa scrie
un paragraf in care sa isi ofere parerea personala asupra unui subiect legat de tema lectiei;
- students are asked to write a short paragrah with the following task: Imagine that you should recreate
the world in 7 days. What do you create every day? They should base their answers on Marin
Sorescu’s poem discussed in today’s lesson / - elevilor li se cere sa scrie un paragraf scurt in care sa
raspunda la urmatoarea intrebare, bazandu-se si pe poezia lui Marin Sorescu discutata in cadrul lectiei :
Imaginaţi-vă că voi ar trebui să recreaţi lumea în 7 zile. Ce aţi crea în fiecare zi?
