1. HANS RUDOLF1 HUBER JR. was born on 01 May 1722 in Hausen am Albis,Switzerland (Bruder
Albis). He died on 29 Mar 1779 in Lower Milford, Lehigh Co., PA. He married Annah (Anna)
Elizabeth (Baer) Bear, daughter of Hans Rudolph (Baer) Bear and Barbara Naef, on 22 Jul 1753 in
Germantown Ref. Ch., Phila, Pa., by Rev. John Conrad Steiner. She was born on 08 Dec 1726 in
Switzerland. She died on 05 Dec 1809 in PA.
Notes for Hans Rudolf Huber Jr.:

Rudolph Huber, Jr. emigrated with his two brothers, Jacob and Heinrich, on the ship Bilander
Vernon from Rotterdam. They arrived in Philadelphia on August 19, 1747. Ship records indicate
all three returned to Switzerland after their father died in 1748. the three brothers returned on the
ship "Priscilla" from Rotterdam and arrived at the Port of Philadelphia in September 1749. The
ship Captain was William Meier.
Hans Rudolph served as a Private under his brother, Henry, in the Revolutionary War. When he
died, he left a Will dated January 6, 1779, which was filed for probate in Bucks County, Pa. on April
30, 1779. The Will named his wife, Annah, and his five living children. His estate was in excess of
4,000 pounds, which would made him a rather wealthy man at that time.
Records of Hans Rudolph and his family are recorded in the Great Swamp Ref. Ch., which is now
located in Lehigh county, Pa. Records of the family in Switzerland are mostly from the Huber/Naef
Genealogy by Julius Billeter, 1910, which were compiled from Hausen am Albis Chruch Records,
Switzerland (copies are in the LDS Library records).

for wagon maker), noted 5 children. Witnessed by Henry Huber and Benjamin Siegle. Rudolph
Huber aka Rudolph Huper.

The Lower Milford Ref. church records noted that Anna died as a result of child birth. Since she
died with a number of young children, her husband may have remarried.

John Huber and his family moved to Scrubgrass Township, Vernango County in Western Pa. in
1835 where he opened a shoemaker's shop. In 1853, the family relocated to Richland Township in
Vernango County.

Notes for David Huber:

David lived in Leipzig, Germany in the 1850's.
The 1870 census for Steinburg, Pa. , page 55, recorded that Catharine Levy, age 22, was
employed by David as a domestic servant. The parents of Catharine Levy are not known.
The 1880 census for Trumbauersville (ED 150), sheet 393C, page 7, line 34 recorded a
granddaughter, Stella (Estella), age 1 (born 1879) who was born in PA was living with David and
Catharine Huber. It is believed that Stella was a Huber and she married a Ralston. Stella and her
husband lived in New Milford, PA on a farm. They were visited by my grandparents, Charles and
Ella (Huber) Gretzinger. As a child, I also recall visiting the Ralston family and eating dinner with
them.
The 1880 census also recorded a servant, Abby Ahlum age 13 (born 1867), living with David and
his family. Another female Ahlum, Priscilla age 18 (born 1862), was recorded by this census as
living with Aaron G. Dubbs and his wife Ellamanda. According to Priscilla's obituary in the Christ
Lutheran Church parish record book, she was one of ten children being raised by her father. The
mother had passed away.

Rebecca was the first wife of David Huber. She died in 1852. She gave birth of a son, Rufus, who
fought with the Pennsylvania 104th Regiment under General McClellan in Virginia in the civil War.
He is buried in Trumbauersville.

Notes for John S. Huber:

In October 1839, John and Harriet left Ohio for "the west" in a buggy drawn by a single horse.
They went as far as Genesee, Illinois, where Harriet remained with relatives for the winter. John
continued on horseback to Cedar County, Iowa, where he purchased land. In early 1840, he
returned to Geneese for his wife arriving back in Iowa on March 21, 1840.
John was a lawyer in the firm "Huber & Wolf". He was twice elected Prosecuting Attorney of Cedar
County, Iowa.
There is some confusion regarding John's middle name. In some official records, his name was
recorded as "John Huber" or "John Huber, III". The Huber Family Bible, however, recorded a
middle initial of "L" or "S". The family Bible was last in the hands of Harriet Dierberger of Iowa.

Notes for Oswin Kepner Huber:

Oswin attended the Keystone State Normal School (later Kutztown State Teachers College and
now Kutztown University) from 1882 to 1885, graduating in 1885 as one of 29 with a two year
teacher certificate. He was one of the class orators at graduation.
In a 1904 news clipping, it was reported that Oswin at age 38 eloped on September 13, 1904, with
an 18 year old beauty, Williamenia (Minnie) Heffletrauger. He wrote to his family a few days later
to say that he would never return. Before his departure, he borrowed $1,300 from Emma's father,
Aaron Dubbs.
Oswin and Minnie settled in San Francisco. There he assumed the name Oliver Randolph Hunter.
The family later received letters from Oswin in December 1904 and January 1905 from San
Francisco begging forgiveness and asking for money to return home. To the family's knowledge,
this was the last time they heard from Oswin.
Oswin was buried in San Francisco, Cyprus Cemetery, Lot 597, Tier 8.

Emma was known as "Grammy Huber". She cared for 90 some children in the community as a
means of support after her husband, Oswin, left her.

Rufus served in the Civil War. He enlisted in 1865 at Frankford (I assume this was the arsenal
located in Philadelphia, Pa.) at the age of 21. He and saw action at the Battle of Richmond. His
military record noted that he had light hair, grey eyes, light complexion and was 5' 5" tall.

In the 1870 census for Susquehanna Co., Pa., Rufus was living in a hotel. His occupation was
cigar maker. In the same hotel with the same occupation was a Michael Hoff. There is a Michael
Hoff, son of John Hoff and Catherine Weidemoyer, born in 1840. This Michael Hoff was my 2nd
great-granduncle.
Rufus Huber was my half great-granduncle.

In her book "Kemmerer Past to Present," Narona discussed the Theresa and Thomas problem on
pages 97 and 98. She states, "According to the birth year of the above (Theresa) and her brother,
Thomas Levy as recorded on tombstones, they were born less than 2 months apart. The 1850 and
1860 census reveal that Theresa was 3 or 4 years older than Thomas. Theresa's obituary and
tombstone inscription reveal the same statistics, likewise, those of Thomas in his obituary with that
of his tombstone. Most likely, the birth year of Thomas is in error."
I tend to agree with Narona. Another consideration is the birth of Thomas' wife, Catharine Ann
Huber, b. 2/28/1847. If Thomas was born in 1838, he would have been 9 years older than
Catharine. If he was born in 1842, he would have been only 5 years older. I realize that this is not
conclusive evidence, but it does help to support a birth year for Thomas of 1842 and not 1838.
Based on the above, I have made Thomas' birth year 1842.

Kevin Marc Bannon, 21, of Milford Twp., passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday,
March 8, 2011. He was the loving son of Kevin W. and Jan L. (Sharp) Bannon
of Milford Twp. A 2007 graduate of Quakertown High School and the Upper

of Milford Twp. A 2007 graduate of Quakertown High School and the Upper
Bucks VoTech School, Marc was currently enrolled in the culinary arts
program at Northampton Community College. Newly employed as a chef at The
Blue Dog in Lansdale, Marc was previously employed at The Melt in the
Promenade at Saucon Valley, which was where Marc got his desire to become a
chef.
Marc was a member of Finland Mennonite Church in Pennsburg. He was

also a member for a short time with the Trumbauersville Fire Company where
he had started his training for firefighting. An avid Philadelphia sports
team fan, he enjoyed the Flyers, Eagles and Phillies. In his free time he
also enjoyed sports cars, football, skiing and spending time at Lake
Nockamixon. Survivors: In addition to his parents, he is survived by his
sister, Aimee Bannon of Greensboro, NC; paternal grandparents, Norris and
Hannah Bannon of Souderton; maternal grandparents, Sonya and William Pitt
Hartzell of Quakertown, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 1

p.m. in the Finland Mennonite Church, 1750 Ziegler Rd., Pennsburg. Interment
will follow in the Christ Union Cemetery, Trumbauersville. Family will
