William Shakespeare, author of the play Romeo and Juliet tells the tragic love

story of two young people Romeo and Juliet. The two teens love eachother, but their
families are rivals which prevents them being together. In the end the two lovers feel like
the only way to be together is in death. Throughout the play, Shakespeare expresses
his belief that conflict has severe consequences through Character interactions,
character actions, and conflict.
First of all, in Act 5 Scene 3 Romeo says to Tybalt “O’ what more favour can I do
to thee, than with my hand in thy young of twain.” This quote shows that Romeo wants
to appologize for whatever he did to Tybalt. Besides, Act 3 Scene 3 it states that that “
My reputation stained with Tybalt’s slander.” This quote shows that Romeo has recieved
a bad reputation based on what he did to Tybalt. This is a bad thing for Romeo because
since he did something bad to a Capulet he would have gotten in trouble with the
Monteque family, and he has recieved banishment. Through these interactions,
Shakespeare expressed his belief of character interactions because when Romeo kills
Tybalt and Romeo’s reputation got ruined, Shakespeare proves the Character
interactions had the overall consequences because Romeo killed someone/ got
banned, and his reputation got ruined.
Next, in act 3 Scene 1 Mercutio says to both Tybalt and Romeo “ I am hurt. A
plaque a both your houses.” This quote shows that since Mercutio died, he hopes that
both the Monteque and Capulet family dies within no time. To continue on to that, in act
2 scene 2 Romeo states “ Henceforth I will never be Romeo.” This quote shows that
since Juliet wants to be together with Romeo, Romeo will have to change his last name.
That is because Juliet doesn’t want to date a person from an opposing families/ and are
rivals with the Capulets. That is a bad thing for both Romeo and Juliet because they
basically have to sneak out at night to see each-other and that’s what their parent’s
don’t want. So, Romeo is required to change his name because he doesnt want his
family to be against him. Through these interactions when Romeo disobeys his family
and goes with Juliet and when he kills Tybalt. Shakespeare proves the character
actions had the overall intentions of consequences because Romeo killed a part of the
Capulet’s family, and he disobeyed his parents to go out to see Juliet.
In addition to, in the prolougue it states “from forth the fatal loins of these two
foes…..” This quote is demonstrating that since the Capulet’s and Monetques were
enemies before Romeo and Juliet were born, both the Capulet and Monteque families
were enemies so that conflict prevented them from being together. In addition to, in the
prolougue it states “from ancient grudge break to new mutiny.” This quote demonstrates
that before Romeo and Juliet were born, the two families in the City of Verona had a
huge conflict which made them get into a huge war because of an ald problem that they
remembered long ago. This was a bad choice for both families because they choose to
have the war then maybe Romeo and Juliet would not had a problem dating and
marrying eachother but instead they wanted to have a huge fued about it and make it a
big deal. Through these interactions when the families had the war with each-other,
Shakespeare proves the conflicts proven because the families wouldn’t get along for
nothing and Romeo and Juliet had to sneak out of their houses at night to see
each-other.
To sum it all up, Shakespeare demonstrates conflict and how it has severe
ramifications through character interactions, character actions, and conflict. There were
two families that were living the city of Verona, where they always had conflicts with
each-other. So when Romeo and Juliet were born they wanted to be together but their
parents prevented it with all the fighting. But then the only way Romeo and Juliet could
be together was in death. The reader learns that old grudges should always be forgiven
and that should change the behavior of R and J. The reader also learns that when you
have an old grudge, you should talk to the person in a peaceful way to end that grudge.
