approaches to sustaining
UK-EU partnerships in
science, technology &
innovation
Cross-border collaboration in science & technology has been one of the
undoubted success stories of the European project. Yet recent political
developments have underlined the deep uncertainties swirling around
Brexit and the future role of UK institutions in European (and international)
R&D and innovation systems. It is therefore an ideal time to explore the new
strategies and alliances being developed to sustain this legacy, as well as
alternative channels for international cooperation in the event of “worst-
case” political outcomes.
