Day 01: Arrive Delhi
Meet on arrival at Airport and transfer to hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 02: Delhi - Agra


After breakfast drive to Agra. En-route visit Mathura, Vrindavan and Sikandra. Arrive
Agra transfer to hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 03: Agra - Varanasi (Overnight train)
Early morning visit Taj Mahal at sunrise. Breakfast at hotel, later visit Agra fort.
Evening transfer to Railway station for Varanasi. Overnight at board.
Taj Mahal, the pinnacle of Mughal architecture, was built by the Mughal emperor
Shah Jahan (1628-1658), grandson of Akbar the great, in the memory of his queen
Arjumand Bano Begum, entitled 'Mumtaz Mahal'. Mumtaz Mahal was a niece of
empress Nur Jahan and granddaughter of Mirza Ghiyas Beg I'timad-ud-Daulah, wazir
of emperor Jehangir.
Day 04: Arrive Varanasi
Morning meet on arrival at Railway station and transfer to hotel, (We may get rooms
after 12:00 hrs, but would try to get few rooms at least to wash & change) Later Visit
SARNATH (where Buddha delivered his first sermon). Then city tour and some
shopping in Varanasi, Overnight stay at hotel.
Sarnath enjoys the extraordinary privilege of Lord Buddha delivering his first sermon
after attaining enlightenment 2500 years ago. It is about 10 km from Varanasi and
holds a number of Buddhist sites that include the famous Dhamekh Stupa, the seat of
the holy 'Buddha'. You can also visit the ruins of Dharmarajika Stupa and
Mulagandha Kuti Temple, where Lord Buddha is said to have rested and meditated
while in Sarnath. The Ashoka Pillar built by the emperor Ashoka is a must see in
Sarnath. The Lion Capital on top of this pillar is now the National Emblem of India
and stands apart for its excellent artistry and carvings.

Day 05: Varanasi - Bodhgaya


Early morning drive 8 hours to Bodhgaya. Arrive Bodhgaya transfer to hotel.
Afternoon visit Mahabodhi Temple & Bodhi Tree, Great Buddha Statue, Niranjana
River, Sujata Temple - which is across the Niranjana River & it's 30 minutes walk
through the paddy fields. Also visit various other Buddhist Temples in Bodhgaya.
Evening transfer to hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.
Bodhgaya is one of the most important and sacred Buddhist pilgrimage center in the
world. It was here under a banyan tree, the Bodhi Tree, Gautama attained supreme
knowledge to become Buddha.
Day 06: Bodhgaya - Kushinagar
Early morning drive to Kushinagar with hot lunch on way. On arrival checkin at hotel.
Overnight stay at hotel.
Located at 55 km from Gorakhpur, Kushinagar is the place where the Lord Buddha
uttered his last words "Behold now, brethren, I exhort you, saying, decay is inherent
in all component things! Work out your salvation with diligence!" and left for the
heaven. A temple dedicated to the event - the Mahaparinirvana temple, stands
testimony to the mournful demise. Among the various Stupas of Kushinagar,
Rambhar Stupa needs your exploration for it is the place where Lord Buddha was
supposedly cremated.

Day 07: Kushinagar - Lumbini


Morning after breakfast visit Mahaparinirvana Temple (where Buddha took his last
breathe) and Rambhar Stupa (cremation site of lord Buddha), Japan Temple.
Afternoon drive 5 hrs to Lumbini (Nepal). While going to Lumbini, stop at
India/Nepal border for Visa/Immigration formalities. Later check-in at Hotel. 15 Min.
drive from the Nepal Border. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 08: Lumbini - Sravasti
Noon visit Lumbini, the Birth place of Lord Buddha. Afternoon drive to Sravasti. On
arrival checkin at hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.
Sravasti situated 134 km from Lucknow and 29 km from Balrampur, Sravasti, the
capital of the ancient kingdom of Kosala, has the honour for sheltering Buddha for 24
rainy seasons in the Jetavana Gardens. It is sacred to Buddhists because it is here that
Lord Buddha performed the Tirthika heretics.
Day 09: Sravasti - Lucknow
Morning visit Sravasti, where Buddha spent his 24 monsoons, visit Jetavana and
Ananda Bodhi Tree, later drive to Lucknow. Arrive Lucknow transfer to Railway
station for Delhi. Overnight at board.
Day 10: Arrive - Delhi - Departure
On arrival at Delhi railway station meet with our representative and transfer to the
hotel for fresh-n-up. Later city sightseeing tour of Old & New Delhi. In the evening
transfer to the airport to board the flight for onward destination.

India is the root country of Buddhism. There are numerous pilgrimage sites in India
which are profoundly revered in Buddhism like Bodhgaya, Patna, Kushinagar,
Vaishali, etc. Nepal houses the two pilgrimage sites of Buddhism- Kapilvastu and
Lumbini. Kathmandu has also a prominence in Buddhism. These Buddhist sites offer
an unsurpassed tranquillity and spirituality to the tourist's mind. Thus, these sites are
frequented by the religious travellers all round the year.
This 15 nights and 16 days itinerary takes the traveller to these sacred sites, and to the
other spots linked with early Buddhism. The list of the revered spots includes
Kushinagar, Patna, Vaishali, Lucknow, Sravasti, Lumbini, Kushinagar, Bodhgaya,
and Varanasi. It is an ideal tour package for the travellers who want to follow the
footsteps of Lord Buddha.
Day 01: Departure from your home country
On arrival in Delhi, our representative will be there to meet you and transfer you to
your pre-booked hotel in Delhi. Check in at the hotel. Rest of the day is free for
leisure followed by an overnight stay in your hotel.
Day 02 : Delhi

Today in the afternoon enjoy sightseeing of Old Delhi including an exhilarating cycle
rickshaw ride to the Jama Masjid through the bustling Chandni Chowk and it's back
roads, which were the centre of the city Shah Jehanabad in the Mughal times. Finally,
we will continue onto the Raj Ghat- Mahatma Gandhi's cremation site, before
returning to the hotel. An overnight stay at the hotel in Delhi.
Day 03: Delhi
After breakfast in the morning, we will visit the Delhi Gurdwaras including the
Gurdwara Bangla Sahib near Connaught Place, and the Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib,
built to commemorate the martyrdom of Guru Teg Bahadur, in Chandni Chowk
market area. Spend time exploring the market perhaps for shopping for the rest of the
day.
In the evening, we will proceed for an excursion to the Qutub Minar, the oldest
Muslim monument in India, and to the nearby Baha'i Lotus Temple, Delhi's most
innovative modern structure, the bhai's house of worship is a world where silence and
order prevail. The structure is made up of pure white marble, the Lotus symbol is
common to Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Islam. Around the blooming petals
there are nine pools of water, which light up, in natural light.
Later return back to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 04 : To Lucknow
In the morning, we will transfer you to New Delhi railway station to board Shatabadi
Express train to Lucknow. Train leaves Delhi at 0615 and arrive Lucknow at 1330. On
arrival in Lucknow, meet our representative who will assist you in the hotel check in
process. Later in the afternoon leave for a leisure walk in the old market of Lucknow.
An overnight stay at the hotel in Lucknow.
Day 05: Lucknow
After Breakfast in the morning, we will visit the Residency complex- site of the
famous siege of 1857, Dilkusha Gardens and La Martiniere. Later in the afternoon, we
will visit the monuments of Avadh Nawabs including the Imambaras, Romi Darwaja
and explore Lucknow's colourful bazaars. Return back to the hotel for a night stay.

Day 06 : To Sravasti
Today, early in the morning, we will drive to Sravasti (approximately 5 hrs driving
time). Check-in at the hotel. Later in the afternoon, we will visit Sravasti where Lord
Buddha passed the greater part of his monastic life and preached after the
enlightenment. Also, we will visit the Ananda Bodhi tree where Lord Buddha
meditated for a night then visit Jetavan where Lord Buddha performed some miracle.
An overnight stay at the hotel in Sravasti.
Day 07 : To Lumbini
In the morning, we will drive to Lumbini (approximately 5 hrs driving time). Check-
in at hotel. Rest of the day is free for leisure followed by a night stay in the hotel in
Lumbini.

Day 08: Lumbini


After breakfast in the morning, we will visit the birth place of Lord Buddha -
Lumbini. Also, we will visit Lumbini Park where the Ashok Pillar carries the
inscription - where the Buddha was born. Then, we will visit Mayadevi temple
devoted to the mother of Lord Buddha which houses a stone picture of giving birth to
Lord Buddha. Later, we will visit China temple which is beautiful pagoda style temple
with many prayer and meditation cells. An overnight stay at the hotel in Lumbini.
Day 9: To Kushinagar
In the morning after breakfast, we will drive to Kushinagar (approximately 4 hrs
driving time). Check-in at the hotel in Kushinagar. In the afternoon leave by private
car for sight-seeing of Kushinagar, one of the major Buddhist pilgrimage destinations
where Lord Buddha attained Parinirvana or final Nirvana. Also, visit ancient stupas
and modern temples, commemorating the Buddha's death and cremation. Visit the
spectacular reclining Buddha Statue. Enjoy a night stay at the hotel in Kushinagar.

Day 10: To Patna via Vaishali


After breakfast in the morning, we will drive to Patna. En-route, we will be visiting
Vaishali (approximately 7 hrs driving time) where Lord Buddha preached his last
sermon. The excavations carried out in Vaishali have brought to light Buddha stupa 1
and 11 (14th century B.C) built in brick with a casket containing part of ashes of
Buddha. We will also visit Ashok Pillar, erected by Emperor Ashok to commemorate
the spot of the last sermon. On arrival in Patna, check-in at the hotel for a night stay.
Day 11: To Bodhgaya via Nalanda and Rajgir
After breakfast in the morning, we will drive to Bodhgaya. En-route, we will visit
Nalanda (approximately 90 kms) founded in the 5th century B.C. We will also visit an
archaeological museum houses the Nalanda University seal, sculptures and other
remains found on the site.Later take a 20 kms drive to Rajgir. Further, we will visit
Griddhkuta "Hill of Vultures", where Buddha delivered some of his most famous
sermons. Thereafter, we will visit Saptparni caves where first Buddha Council was
held which is also the source of Rajgir's hot springs.
Then drive to Bodhgaya (approximately 120 kms) and Check-in at the pre-booked
guest house for an overnight stay.

Day 12: Bodhgaya


In the morning after breakfast, we will visit Mahabodhi Temple which includes tall
stone lotuses, figures of Buddha sitting in different postures on the walls, his
footprints on the stones and a colossal golden Buddha in the sanctum sanctorum. The
Bodhi Tree is situated in the premises of the temple, is the one under which Buddha
attained illumination. Another option is to sit and meditate under the Bodhi Tree.
Later return back to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 13 : To Varanasi
After early breakfast in the morning, we will transfer you to the railway station for
your train journey to Varanasi. The train leaves Bodhgaya at 0705 and arrive Varanasi
1115. On arriving at Varanasi, meet our representative who will transfer you to your
pre-booked hotel. Attend the evening Aarti at Sasumed Ghat on the banks of river
Ganges. Enjoy a night stay at the hotel in Varanasi.

Day 14 : Varanasi
Today, we will leave for an early morning boat ride at Ganges River. As the dawn
mists rise on the Holy River Ganges, glide silently on a boat to see the devout come to
bathe and pray. Later in the early afternoon, we will drive to Sarnath where the Lord
Buddha preached his first discourse, and to see the Stupas, ancient and modern
Temples and Ashoka's Pillar. Lord Buddha came to sarnath after gaining
enlightenment under the sacred bodhi tree.
Day 15 : Delhi
The morning time is free for leisure, rest and relaxes. Later in the early afternoon, we
will transfer you to the airport to board the flight to Delhi. On arrival at Delhi, meet
our representative who will transfer you to your pre-booked hotel in Delhi for an
overnight stay.
Day 16 : International Departure
In the morning, we will transfer you to the international airport to board the flight to
your home country.

Kolkata, where you will spend a day to visit the monuments like Victoria Memorial,

Continue your tour to Bodh Gaya, which is famous for its Bodhi tree, the spot where
Buddha meditated to attain enlightenment. In Bodh Gaya visit the Mahabodhi

spending some good number of days at Bodhgaya, embark on a drive to Varanasi to

Day 01: Arrive Kolkata

On arrival in Kolkata, meet our representative, who will further transfer you to a pre-

Day 02: Kolkata
Post breakfast, go for a city sightseeing tour, which includes a visit to the Victoria
Memorial, St. Paul's Cathedral, Ramakrishna Math, Kalighat and Mother Teresa
Hospice. In the evening, you will be transferred to the railway station to board a flight
for Bodh Gaya. Overnight journey.
Day 03: Arrive Bodh Gaya

Upon arrival at Bodh Gaya, meet your guide, who will further transfer you to a hotel.
After some time at the hotel, visit Mahabodhi Temple, a Buddhist temple where the
Buddha is said to have attained enlightenment. Within the temple complex, you can
see a tall stone lotuses, figures of Buddha sitting in different postures on the walls,
footprints on the stones and a colossal golden that has a statue of Buddha in the
sanctum sanctorum. Also, you will see the Bodhi tree, a 'peepal tree' under which
Buddha meditated to attained enlightenment. After a sightseeing tour, go back to the
hotel for overnight stay and dinner.
Day 04: Bodhgaya – Rajgir -Nalanda-Bodhgaya

Post breakfast at the hotel, proceed for a full day excursion to Rajgir & Nalanda. First,
you will visit Nalanda, one of the ancient world’s great universities and a major
Buddhist centre of academic excellence. Later, you will embark on a 20 km ride to
Rajgir to see Griddhkuta "Hill of Vultures", a heritage site where Lord Buddha spent
several months meditating and teaching Dharma. After that, visit Saptparni caves
where Buddha's first council was organized and is also a source of Rajgir's hot
springs. In the evening, return to Bodh Gaya hotel for overnight stay and dinner.
Day 04: Bodhgaya - Varanasi

After breakfast at the Bodh Gaya hotel, drive to Varanasi. On arrival at Varanasi
check-in at the hotel. Later proceed to visit Sarnath, the first place where Buddha
came to gave his famous first sermon. It is about 10 km from Varanasi and holds
some Buddhist sites that include the famous Dhamekh Stupa, the seat of the holy
'Buddha'. Also, you will visit the ruins of Dharmarajika Stupa and Mulagandha Kuti

India, visit Agra to see the beautiful Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. Next day, you will
board a train for Patna to visit the iconic places like Nalanda, Rajgir and Bodhgaya. A
world heritage site, Mahabodhi Temple Complex in Bodh Gaya marks the place
where Buddha attained enlightenment. Here you can find structures that date back to
5th century BC. Also here you will see the Bodhi tree under which the Buddha found
enlightenment. On the same day, drive to Varanasi to see the place where Buddha
gave his famous first sermon after attaining enlightenment, Sarnath. In Sarnath, you
will see a 100m-high stupa, which is one of the largest in the world. From Sarnath,
drive to Kushinagar, an ancient town where Gautama Buddha attained Parinirvana
after his death. Spend a day in Kushinagar and then visit Lumbini in Nepal, the
birthplace of Gautam Buddha, for a short period of time. In Lumbini, visit the Maya
Devi Temple, which marks the spot where Queen Maya Devi gave birth to Siddhartha
Gautama. Due to time constraint, you will leave Lumbini and proceed to Sravasti, the
last attraction of the tour. In Shravasti, you can see Ananda Bodhi tree and Jetavana,
one of the famous Buddhist monastery and Vihara in India. After a day tour in
Shravasti, go to Lucknow to board a train or flight to your destination onwards.

Day 01: Arrive Aurangabad

On arrival at Aurangabad, you will be transferred to the hotel by our representatives.


Later, visit the Daulatabad Fort, Bibi-Ka-Muqbara, and Aurangabad Caves. Overnight
stay at the hotel.
Day 02: Aurangabad - Ellora Caves - Aurangabad
Today, in the first half, visit Ellora Caves, which is 30 km from Aurangabad. Ellora is
famous for its rock-cut cave temples that date back to 10th and 11th century. After the
sightseeing tour, return to the hotel in Aurangabad for overnight stay and dinner.
Day 03: Aurangabad – Ajanta Cave - Jalgaon - Bhopal
After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Ajanta caves, located 100 km, a 2½ hour drive,
northeast of Aurangabad in the Waghora valley. These magnificent rock-cut caves, 30
in number, date from 2nd BC to 7th Century AD. After the sightseeing tour, drive to
Jalgaon railway station from where you will board a train for Bhopal.

Day 04: Bhopal – Sanchi – Bhopal – Agra


Today, you will visit Sanchi Stupa, a rounded hill topped with some of India’s oldest
Buddhist structures. In the afternoon, return to the hotel in Bhopal. In the evening, you
will board a train from Bhopal to board a train to Agra.
Day 04: Arrive Agra
Upon arrival at Agra, meet our representatives who will transfer you to the hotel. In
the afternoon, visit Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. After a tiring city sightseeing tour,
return to the hotel for overnight stay and dinner.
Day 05: Agra – Delhi – Patna (air)
Post breakfast at the hotel, drive to Delhi Airport to board a flight to Patna. On arrival
at Patna, check- in the hotel for overnight stay and dinner.

Day 06: Patna – Nalanda – Rajgir - Bodhgaya


Today, drive to Bodhgaya. During the journey, visit Nalanda, an ancient university
founded in the 5th century B.C. Also, you will visit a museum that exhibits the
Nalanda University seal, sculptures and other remains found on the site. Further, visit
Griddhkuta "Hill of Vultures", where Buddha delivered some of his most famous

Day 07: Bodhgaya - Varanasi

In the morning, enjoy a hearty breakfast and visit Mahabodhi Temple in Sarnath, a
hallowed ground where Buddha attained enlightenment and formulated his philosophy
of life. Make a point to see the Bodhi Tree, a sacred fig tree ever to grace the Earth
under which Prince Siddhartha, the founder of Buddhism, achieved enlightenment.
Later drive to Varanasi for overnight stay and dinner.
Day 08: Varanasi
Today, explore Varanasi. Start your day with an early morning boat ride and then in
first half visit Vishwanath Temple, Bharat Mata Temple, Tulsi Manas Temple. Later,
the second half, visit Sarnath (where Buddha delivered his first sermon). In the
evening, see the famed Ganga aarti. Overnight stay at the Varanasi hotel.
Day 09: Varanasi - Kushinagar
After breakfast, drive to Kushinagar, the holy town where Gautama Buddha attained
Parinirvana after his death. On arrival at Kushinagar, check in the hotel and then go
for a city sightseeing tour. Dinner and overnight stay at the Kushinagar hotel.
Day 10: Kushinagar – Lumbini - Shravasti
After breakfast at the Kushinagar hotel, drive to Shravasti. During the journey, visit
Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha. Today, visit Mayadevi temple, which is sacred to
Buddha’s mother. Later visit China temple, which is a beautiful pagoda-style temple
with many prayers and meditation cells. Then continue drive to Sravasti. On arrival at
Shravasti check-in at the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 11: Shravasti – Lucknow Shravasti, Departs
Today, proceed for city tour of Shravasti where Lord Buddha passed the greater part
of his monastic life and preached after the enlightenment. Visit the Ananda Bodhi tree
where Lord Buddha meditated for a night then visit Jetavan where Lord Buddha
performed some miracle. In the afternoon, drive to Lucknow to board a flight or train.
