PREVENTING FAILURES IN LIFT-UP MOTOR OPERATION.

1.Model Name: AR-D13/D14/D15/D20/MU1, AR-D27/D28/MU2/D29, AR-FN6

AR-M550N/M550U/M620N/M620U/M700N/M700U

2.Symptom: Upon installation of the machine, if the power is turned on without removing the anchor of the
cassette, the cassette lift motor is turned on and a load is applied to the lift motor A shaft.
Then the output shaft gear (resin) of the lift motor A is twisted. If the system is left under this
condition, the output shaft gear stays twisted and may cause disengagement between the
cassette and the cam, and a failure of the lift up motor occurs.

3.Description: To enhance strength of the output shaft gear against twisting, the material of the output shaft
gear is changed.
Along with the material change, the color of the output shaft gear is changed from beige into
white.

4.Action: From mid-June 2006 production.
