Greetings of Peace and Prosperity!

The Diocese of Lucena formulates a new organization exclusively for Altar Servers
called Diocesan Ministry of Altar Servers proposed by some priest and seminarians. By the grace
of Almighty God, the proposed organization was been approved by our bishop, Most. Rev. Mel
Rey Uy, D.D., Bishop of Lucena.

To attain the demand of our Diocese, the altar servers in our Vicariate build and construct
a new organization named Vicariate Ministry of Altar Servers in line to the DMAS last May 29,
2018 at St. Vincent Ferrer Parish Sampaloc, Quezon. They also compose their Constitution and
By-Laws that will serve as their legal paper and basis to conduct and initiate different activities
that the servers’ will benefit. This organization will help also in order to have fast and reliable
dissemination of information from our Diocese to the Parishes.

Pursuant to VMAS Order no. 1 s. 2018, Article III sec. I “The VMAS shall have the
power which emanates from the altar servers of every parish under the jurisdiction of the
aforementioned vicariate. It shall be an autonomous, unified and the highest democratic
representative of every altar server in the Vicariate for the Diocese.” Correspondingly, as stated
in Article III sec. V (Objective) “The VMAS shall be forefront of the servers’ right and welfare,
and shall be the model of all altar servers’ excellence, grounded on good character, and deep
sense of moral values.”

We, the Vicariate Ministry of Altar Servers want to ignite the flames of leadership in our
hearts through the whole-hearted service to our co-servers, in the example of our Lord Jesus
Christ, the good shepherd.

In lieu to this, we would like to request your approval and consideration for the
aforementioned group to become as one of the affiliate Catholic Organization of all Altar Servers
in our Vicariate that will give, support and initiate different activities and projects that are
suitable for our servers. In addition, it may contribute to the continuous growth and development
of the spiritual life and leadership skills of our youth to become the future leaders of our nation
especially in our church.

We are looking forward for your response with positivity for this matter and it will be
highly appreciated.
