Auxiliares de Conversación en España      Madrid, Spain 
Language Assistant    
October 2018 – Present ​| 16 hours per week 
● Worked at a bilingual primary school with approximately one hundred second grade students.  
● Assisted with classes taught in English: English, Natural Science, Social Science, and Arts and Crafts. 
o Helped to lead daily routines to reinforce certain vocabulary words. 
o Implemented games to give students a break while improving upon vocabulary. 
o Created videos for many lesson units in which I pronounced the vocabulary, so the students 
could watch the videos at home and practice with a native accent. 
● Created and organized activities to teach Spanish youth about American culture, specifically about 
holidays like Halloween and Thanksgiving. 
 
Notre Dame Mission Volunteers- AmeriCorps ​San Francisco, CA 
Volunteer Teacher’s Aide    
September 2017 – July 2018 ​| 40 hours per week 
● Served as a volunteer teaching aide for grades 6-8 (ages 11-14) at St. Finn Barr school in San Francisco. 
● Worked with a team of four other certified teachers to assist students in any way necessary. 
o Assisted small groups of students struggling in different classes. 
o Monitored classrooms for appropriate behavior. 
● Lead and managed an afterschool Homework Club for 15 at-risk middle school students requiring a safe 
and productive space to complete homework.  
● Assisted in Journalism and Spanish after school clubs. 
o Planned lessons, assisted the primary teachers, and gathered necessary materials. 
● Attended out of school events like walkathons, festivals, and sports games to become integrated into the 
community. 
● Participated in bi-weekly workshops on various topics with ten other AmeriCorps volunteers and a team 
leader. 
o Example topics include: trauma care, mandated reporter training, leadership seminar, etc. 
 
CentroNia, Community School and Nonprofit   ​Washington, DC 
Remedial Skills Tutor    
August – December 2016​ | 5 hours per week 
● Tutored two Spanish speaking elementary school-aged students (ages 9 and 10) in remedial reading, 
writing, and math skills. 
o Focused on English literacy skills as both students had English as a second language. 
o Practiced Spanish and English translation skills and comprehension. 
● Assisted with completing any homework assigned by their schools. 
● Acted as a mentor for the students, providing a good example of a role model. 
 
Asociación Mayas 
English as a Second Language Tutor   Madrid, Spain 
August – December 2015 ​| 5 hours per week  
● Acted as an English literacy tutor for two 30 year old Spanish speakers who had lived in Spain their 
entire lives. 
● Created lesson plans, conversation topics, and fun activities to keep the students engaged. 
● Conducted mock interviews with the students in English, as they both wanted to practice speaking 
English for job interviews. 
 
School of Public Affairs Leadership Program, American University 
First Year Teaching Assistant W​ ashington, DC 
May 2014 – May 2015 ​| 10 hours per week 
● Formulated Welcome Week activities, a First Year Retreat, and a curriculum for the entire year with a 
group of five other teaching assistants. 
o Planned, implemented, and taught various lesson plans on topics such as: having difficult 
conversations, power and privilege, and the science of happiness. 
● Provided support and planned weekly meetings for a first year (ages 17-19) group of seven 
students in their process of creating a social action project based on preventing sexual assault on 
American University’s campus 
● Acted as a resource for forty-two first year students for any concerns they had.

Levana Autism Support Services   ​San Francisco, CA 
Caregiver    
September 2017 – July 2018 ​| 10 hours per week 
● Provided respite care for families with children on the autism spectrum, allowing primary caregivers a 
few hours off. 
● Upheld routines, practiced speech and communication skills, and maintained proper behaviors. 
● Worked primarily with a 7 year old with autism. 
 
American University Honors Program ​Washington, DC 
Honors Ambassador  
August 2016 – May 2017​ | 4 hours per week 
● Served as a constant online resource for anyone interested in the Honors Program, answering questions 
frequently. 
● Participated in informational sessions, educating potential students and parents about the benefits of 
American University and the program. 
● Worked with the Honors office to assist in any way possible. 
 
CentroNia, Community School and Nonprofit   ​Washington, DC 
Communications and Development Intern    
January – May 2016 ​| 16 hours per week 
● Worked on a team of four creating graphics and writing materials for social media posts and the 
organization’s website. 
● Researched, located, and contacted potential donors for fundraising purposes. 
● Conducted interviews with volunteers, students, and parents to write blog posts about the organization 
and its outreach among the Latino population of DC.

Library Volunteer

● Worked at a “pay what you can” library with a focus on increasing literacy and a love for reading in 
people of all ages. 
● Assisted customers of a wide variety of ages with any concerns they had, frequently helping them pick 
out books of interest to them. 
● Spoke only in Spanish with fellow volunteers and customers.
