BISON -

Dallas County R-1

School District

Buffalo, Missouri
the Seventies ...
It is difficult for youth, especially in Elementary
and Junior-Senior High School, to be genuinely seri-
ous about the opportunities available to them when it
would appear that an ever increasing number of adult
Americans may be becoming more and more indiffer-
ent about such original American attributes as free
enterprise, freedom of thought and action, freedom
of religion, and just freedom generally.

A serious examination of ourselves, our attitudes,

our opportunities and our determination-or lack there-
of-to take advantage of them, may be more important
now than ever before.

Sincerely,

~t:Js~~

Bison Football Was Fine In Sixty-Nine

It was the greatest season ever for Buffalo footba 11 as

the Bison Varsity rolled to seven wins in eight games
and a first place finish in the Central Ozark Confer-
ence. At the season end, happy gridders carried
head coach Lew McGill from the field after blasting
the Bolivar Libera tors, 22-0.

A fine offense featured the power running of John

Hale and the sharp passing of Tom Shewmaker to
ends Ray Whitney and Denny Howser. Combined
with a rugged defensive unit that was led by Bud
Farell, Kayton Parks and Leroy Young, the Bisons
won their last six games in a row by convincing
margins.
