I always want to travel by train. Mum and Dad surprised me last week after
dinner when they said that the whole family was taking the train to visit my
grandmother in Sousse. I was so excited that I couldn't even eat the delicious
cake that Mum made for dessert. We left on Saturday morning after breakfast.

We packed our suitcases and walked to the train station. Dad booked four
single tickets. I looked around the station. It was really big and full of
passengers. Mum bought a newspaper and John took his CD player to listen
to music. I saw a big clock. It was nine o’clock. Then we heard an
announcement over the loudspeaker: a booming voice said our train was ready
to leave the station. The sun was shining and there were green trees all
around.

When we slowed to a stop at the station, my grandparents were waiting for us.
They hugged us and asked if we had a good trip. I said that we sure did. The
train stayed in the station for only five minutes or so, and I sadly waved
goodbye when it left. I walked away, holding my mother's hand. I had fun at
my grandparents’ house. But soon our visit was over. We went back home by
bus. That was fun too, but the train was better.
