I. Rationale and Description
With the modern technology and with the younger generation almost active in
everything, the current direction of agriculture in the Philippines is geared towards
making it more attractive and more appealing to the youth. The objective is to make
the younger generation venture and be involved in agriculture.
Up to 80% of Daramnons earn their sustenance through agriculture. However,
nowadays, fewer Daramnons are engaging into farming as they see it as a low-
income, tedious and laborious work. As an island municipality, our municipality is very
much dependent in agriculture as it provides as our basic needs to survive. It is
necessary that the agriculture in our municipality shall be sustained and develop.
This month of December, the Local Government of Daram will be conducting a
Young Farmers Summit. The activity intends to bring together and orient the youth on
farming especially on organic agriculture. Also, the activity aims to increase their
interest with agriculture as we observe that youth nowadays fewer and fewer are
practicing farming.
The agriculture industry of Philippines is now quite strong in not only providing
stable and affordable food for Filipinos. The new goal is making sure everyone gets to
be interested and to participate in agriculture including the new generation, hence this
proposal.
II. Activity Objective(s)

- The activity intends to bring together and conduct discussions on farming

especially on organic agriculture. Also, the activity aims to increase their
interest with agriculture as we observe that youth nowadays fewer and
fewer are practicing farming.
