Devops Engineer

Location of Placement: According to the opened position

Devops Engineer will work with software developers, IT infrastructure engineer, and other IT staff
to oversee code releases and infrastructure required for TELKOM’s digital products.. In delivering
TELKOM digital products, Devops engineer must be able to manage cloud infrastructure (on
premise and public cloud), define an appropriate deployment model, provision required resources,
direct the testing protocol to validate release and monitor performance after release using CI/CD
tools, and able to deploy code in docker container environment. In addition, Devops Enginer will
be expected to actively engage with existing TELKOM IT and Developer teams to foster
knowledge transfer and the sharing of relevant skills and experience. As such, successful
candidates are required to have hard and soft skills that are required to overcome the traditional
barriers between software development, testing and operations teams in Lean and Agile
environment.

Job Specification

Successful candidates will -

1. Engage with cloud infrastructure and developer teams to understand digital products deployment and
work within a team to plan, deploy, and maintain CI/CD pipeline practices in digital products
development.
2. Take part in influencing other developer teams and broader engineering groups in adopting DevOps
best practices.;
 3. Design, develop, and maintain automation workflows, performing automation tests, and conducting
review to make sure digital product is rigorously designed, elegantly coded, and effectively tuned for
platform performance, and assess the overall quality of delivered components.
4. Troubleshoot problems, involving the appropriate resources and driving resolution of issues with a
focus on minimizing impact to digital products performance.
5. Drive improvements to processes and design enhancements to automation and CI/CD pipeline to
continuously improve the development-test-staging-production environment.
6. Participate in DevOps design, development, testing, and release of new capabilities and features with
focus on release and post-production support.
7. Be willing to work across the TELKOM region, and across multiple development stacks.

Requirement

Successful candidates must -

1. Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's Degree in any field, preferebly in Computer Science or
equivalent;
2. Max. 35 years old
3. Have minimum 2 years hands-on experience in designing, developing and maintaining CI/CD process
and familiar with tools like Git, Jenkins, Ansible, etc
4. Have strong background and experience in Linux / Unix Administration
5. Have minimum 2 years hands-on experience with containerization technologies such as Kubernetes
and Docker Container
6. A working understanding of code and script (PHP, Python, Javascript, etc)
7. Demonstrate a keen interest in, and fair understanding of cloud and automation technology and the
business trends that are driving the adoption of this technology;
8. Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
9. Be proficient in the use of both written and spoken business English;
10. Demonstrate excellent organizational and people skills, including the ability to work independently
and appropriately prioritise between competing opportunities.

Successful candidates will preferably -

1. Have ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services;
2. Have strong experience with SQL, MySQL,and NoSQL;
