Introduction
As part of its Applications Unlimited Program Oracle continues to invest in PeopleSoft applications on
an ongoing basis, including frequent delivery of significant new functionality on its latest 9.2 release.
Customers can selectively adopt new features and enhancements using the PeopleSoft Update
Manager.
o In general, new capabilities delivered in Update Images do not require additional software
license fees, but Oracle reserves the rights to decide if some specific new features and/or new
products can require new software licenses.
o PeopleSoft Update Images have no effect on Oracle support policies. A detailed listing of
support periods for each PeopleSoft product family and release is included in the Lifetime
Support Policy Overview data sheet, which is available on Oracle.com

and offer customers more flexibility through the use of additional configuration options, integrations, and
new tools capabilities.

The Fluid User Interface (Fluid UI) continues to be one of the most exciting and revolutionary new
features PeopleSoft has delivered in years. PeopleSoft HCM and ELM plan to continue to deliver self-
service applications that can be used from multiple devices (smartphone, mini-tablet, tablet,
laptop/desktop) and which provide an optimized user experience across different form factors.
Employees no longer need to use a single device to get their job done. The adoption of mobile
technology (smartphones/tablets) has grown exponentially in the last few years, and your employees
expect to be able to do their job from wherever they are. PeopleSoft Fluid User Interface has enabled
PeopleSoft applications to deliver solutions that are optimized for multiple devices. The user experience
is now consistent across different form factors since the applications are fluid, responsive, and adjusts
to the device being used.

NEW! Update Image Highlights Videos

As part of Oracle PeopleSoft’s continuing dedication to improving the customer experience and delivering
information in the most efficient manner possible, we now post a Highlights video to our YouTube channel that
provides a brief explanation for each major feature or enhancement delivered in that image.

2 | PEOPLESOFT HCM UPDATE IMAGE OVERVIEW

Update Image Highlights Videos do not replace our extremely popular Video Feature Overviews which tend to be
more robust and thorough explanations of a specific type of functionality. Instead, the Highlights videos allow
viewers a quick visual and audio description of major new features delivered in an image.

You’ll see a link to an Image’s Highlights video directly below the Update Image heading elsewhere in this
document.

PeopleSoft ELM Update Image 14

Mobile Learning – SCORM/AICC

Learners can launch SCORM and AICC compliant content using the PeopleSoft Fluid User Interface.

<Compliant Content> page

Learners use this page to access compliant content for a class. It now includes a progress bar at the top. This bar
displays the percentage of the class that the learner has completed. The system calculates this percentage based
on all chapters and subchapters for the class that have a status. The system considers Passed, Failed, and
Completed statuses as complete for the purposes of calculating class progress.

In addition, you can now enable bookmarking for this page so that when a learner clicks Save on this page, the
system saves the learner’s location in the compliant content. This enables learners to pick up where they left off
when they launch compliant content that is already in progress.

3 | PEOPLESOFT HCM UPDATE IMAGE OVERVIEW

PeopleSoft ELM Update Image 15

Learner Merge
A situation can sometimes occur within organizations in which there are both external and internal
learner profiles for the same person. For example, a contractor who was originally added to your ELM
system as an external learner could be hired permanently leading to the creation of an internal learner
profile. This results in duplicate active learner records and distributed learning history for the same
person. In this type of situation, merging the duplicate learners manually is tedious and time consuming.
The Merge Learners component enables you to merge the learning of external source learners to a
target internal learner, creating a single, unified learning record for the learner in your ELM system.

Example of the Merge Learners page

Navigation Collections
Navigation Collections provide a quick and easy way to navigate to any set of PeopleSoft pages or components.
With Navigation Collections, users can click on one tile to access dozens of Fluid and Classic components that
would normally require more lengthy individual navigation through the Nav Bar. Customers can easily modify
delivered Navigation Collections or create new ones to suit their business needs.

You can access delivered Navigation Collections using tiles from both the Talent Administrator and Learning
Instructor Fluid home pages.

Global Payroll for Brazil

This section describes delivered new functionality or enhancements that apply to the Global Payroll for
Brazil application.
eSocial Reporting
eSocial is a nationwide program that is led by the Brazilian government to streamline the transmission of HR and
payroll-related information from companies doing business in Brazil to the government in a centralized framework. In
preparation for the implementation of eSocial, PeopleSoft Global Payroll for Brazil continues to deliver new setup
pages as well as changes to existing HR and GP for Brazil pages. Additionally, batch processes are delivered in this
image to:

• Load initial basic table and employee data

• Load basic table data updates

• Load labor event data updates

These processes are responsible for extracting data that is required for their eSocial events, populating it to
corresponding staging tables, and calling the application engine to generate XML files from data stored in staging
tables.

Use of application engine to process eSocial basic table events

17 | PEOPLESOFT HCM UPDATE IMAGE OVERVIEW

Customers report data to eSocial in the form of XML files. If errors are found in XML files, customers can regenerate
them in a batch process:

Use of application engine to regenerate XML files for selected events

Global Payroll for France

This section describes delivered new functionality or enhancements that apply to the Global Payroll for
France application.
DSN Reporting
PeopleSoft Global Payroll for France enables you to create files based on DSN reporting norms. This new feature
also supports the user to generate and send the DSN reports to the concerned authorities monthly or based on the
occurrence of any event. The data extraction and file generation process for monthly DSN reports follows the
monthly payroll cycle. Event based DSN reports are generated on occurrence of any particular event such as work
stoppages or termination. Event declaration can also be included in monthly DSN report.

With the recent enhancements to the existing Application Framework, we now support co-existence of multiple
versions for DSN in the same instance. This allows the user to continue submitting production data based on a prior
version, along with test file submissions that comply with the latest DSN norm.

18 | PEOPLESOFT HCM UPDATE IMAGE OVERVIEW

The new enhancement supports co-existence of multiple versions for DSN in the same instance

Using Update DSN Data page you can also update the existing structure, add new instance of a structure, delete
structures, reverse deleted structures and generate the updated file.

Update DSN Data page enables you to update the existing structure and generate updated file

Payroll for North America and ePay

This section describes delivered new functionality or enhancements that apply to the Payroll for North
America application, and employee payroll self-service, ePay.
(USA) Updateable PDF Tax Forms (W-4)
With HCM Image 18, Oracle’s PeopleSoft Payroll for North America enables you to set up updatable PDF tax forms
so that USA employees can update their own federal and state tax withholding information using employee payroll
self-service (ePay) Fluid User Interface.

19 | PEOPLESOFT HCM UPDATE IMAGE OVERVIEW

Employees access updateable tax forms from the Fluid Interface Payroll tile. The process extracts the employee’s
data from PeopleSoft and pre-fills selected fields in the agency’s tax form for that jurisdiction. When the employee
updates the tax data and submits the form, the system updates the PeopleSoft Tax Data tables with the updated
information, saves the form, and notifies the Payroll Administrator of the change. If the Approval Workflow Engine
(AWE) is enabled, and Approval Required is selected on the Company Mapping page for the jurisdiction, the system
submits the changes to the Payroll Administrator for approval first, and updates the data only after approval is
entered.

Recruiting Solutions
This section describes delivered new functionality or enhancements that apply to one or both of the
Candidate Gateway and Talent Acquisition Manager applications.
Fluid Candidate Gateway
Fluid Candidate Gateway offers applicants a modern and intuitive experience as they search for jobs, apply for jobs,
and track job opportunities. The mobile-friendly design gives applicants the flexibility to apply for jobs using mobile
devices as well as desktops and laptops.

Fluid Candidate Gateway uses the same setup as classic Candidate Gateway to provide robust and highly
configurable functionality, so moving to the Fluid User Interface doesn’t require a whole new implementation.

When applicants access Fluid Candidate Gateway, the first page to appear is the new Careers page. This page
provides a quick keyword search option along with links to other areas of the application.

If the applicant is signed in, the page displays counts of notifications, applications, favorite jobs, and saved
searches.

20 | PEOPLESOFT HCM UPDATE IMAGE OVERVIEW

The Careers page welcomes appliants when they first access Fluid Candidate Gateway

The Actions List gives applicants quick access to all areas of Fluid Candidate Gateway from pages throughout the
system:

The Actions List is available throughout Fluid Candidate Gateway

Most other pages in Fluid Candidate Gateway are equivalent to the corresponding classic pages. This example
illustrates the Search Jobs page, where applicants use a combination of keyword searching and filters to find job
postings of interest. In this example, the site is configured not to show optional fields and not to allow applicants to
select and apply for multiple jobs in one application, but Fluid Candidate Gateway fully supports those configuration
options.

21 | PEOPLESOFT HCM UPDATE IMAGE OVERVIEW

The Search Jobs page provides a keyword search and filtering options

Fluid Candidate Gateway, like classic Candidate Gateway, provides a guided job application process. In Fluid
Candidate Gateway, the steps in the process appear in a left panel, and applicants move through the process using
Previous and Next buttons at the top of the page.

Employee Snapshot
The Employee Snapshot feature provides managers with a comprehensive view of talent data related to an
individual employee through the use of dashboards and tiles within the PeopleSoft Fluid User Interface pages. With
Employee Snapshot, managers have access to an employee’s talent data from one location instead of accessing
several components separately.

This section describes delivered new functionality or enhancements that apply to the core Global
Payroll application.
Global Payroll Variance Analytics
Global Payroll Analytics comprises a robust set of pivot charts that enable payroll administrators to analyze payroll
results so that they can quickly find and manage exceptions. Adding to the existing set of Threshold Analytics pivots,
