Instructions
Disease: ❏ Genetic
Long QT Syndrome ❏ Lifestyle
❏ Infection
Disease: ❏ Genetic
Pericarditis ❏ Lifestyle
❏ Infection
Description:
Pericarditis is swelling and irritation of the pericardium, the thin saclike
membrane surrounding your heart. Pericarditis often causes chest pain
and sometimes other symptoms. The sharp chest pain associated with Variety of factors
pericarditis occurs when the irritated layers of the pericardium rub
against each other.
Disease: ❏ Genetic
Cardiomegaly ❏ Lifestyle
❏ Infection
Description:
Combination of factors
Abnormal enlargement of the heart; symptom of some other condition
Disease: ❏ Genetic
Brugada Syndrome ❏ Lifestyle
❏ Infection
Description:
Life-threatening heart rhythm disorder that is sometimes inherited.
People with Brugada syndrome have an increased risk of abnormal heart
rhythms from the lower chambers of the heart (ventricular arrhythmias).
Disease: ❏ Genetic
Atrial Fibrillation ❏ Lifestyle
❏ Infection
Description:
Atrial fibrillation is an irregular and often rapid heart rate that can
increase your risk of stroke, heart failure and other heart-related
complications. Atrial fibrillation can lead to blood clots forming in the
heart that may circulate to other organs and lead to blocked blood flow
(ischemia).
Disease: ❏ Genetic
Dilated Cardiomyopathy ❏ Lifestyle
❏ Infection
Description:
Dilated cardiomyopathy is a disease of the heart muscle, usually starting
in your heart's main pumping chamber (left ventricle). The ventricle
stretches and thins (dilates) and can't pump blood as well as a healthy
heart can. The term "cardiomyopathy" is a general term that refers to the
abnormality of the heart muscle itself.
Dilated cardiomyopathy might not cause symptoms, but for some people
it can be life-threatening. A common cause of heart failure — the heart's
inability to supply the body with enough blood — dilated
cardiomyopathy can also contribute to irregular heartbeats
(arrhythmias), blood clots or sudden death.
Disease: ❏ Genetic
Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy ❏ Lifestyle (sometimes)
❏ Infection
Description:
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is a disease in which the heart
muscle (myocardium) becomes abnormally thick (hypertrophied). The
thickened heart muscle can make it harder for the heart to pump blood.
Disease: ❏ Genetic
Endocarditis ❏ Lifestyle
❏ Infection
Description:
Endocarditis is an infection of the endocardium, which is the inner
lining of your heart chambers and heart valves.
Endocarditis generally occurs when bacteria, fungi or other germs from
another part of your body, such as your mouth, spread through your
bloodstream and attach to damaged areas in your heart. If it's not treated
quickly, endocarditis can damage or destroy your heart valves and can
lead to life-threatening complications. Treatments for endocarditis
include antibiotics and, in certain cases, surgery.
Disease: ❏ Genetic
Valvular Stenosis ❏ Lifestyle
❏ Infection
Description:
Type of heart valve disease; characterized by damage to or a defect in Combination
one of the four heart valves: the mitral, aortic, tricuspid or pulmonary.
