Mango (Mangifera indica L.) is one of the top agricultural commodity exports

in the Philippines. The Carabao Mango variety, also known as Manila Super Mango,

is one of the most famous varieties in the world which made the country ranked sixth

on the world`s biggest producer of mango. The Carabao Mango variety is used as the

raw material for mango juice production of Meng-O Juice Philippines Corporation.

Local Production

According to the Philippine Statistics Authority, the volume of national

production of mango during the third quarter of the 2017 (July – September) was

55.44 thousand metric tons. In which, Carabao mango variety contributed 80.80% of

the total mango production during the period.

Davao region is considered as one of the top mango producing region in the

country. Based on the data from the Philippine Statistics Authority on July 2017,

Davao Region produced 52, 765 metric tons of mangoes in the year 2016.

Local Source

There are three major areas in Davao region where raw material supply can be

procured for the production of mango juice. These are Davao City, Digos City and

Island Garden City of Samal (IGACOS).

In Davao City, majority of the mango farmers are scattered along the

Calinan and Mintal districts. In Digos City, the farmers are mostly situated along San

Roque, Colorado and Upper Matti district while the IGACOS farmers are situated in
