OBJECTIVE
To introduce to the students the strength and basic characteristics of materials for proper
applications in the industry.

1. Analyze two dimensional basic stress, strain, and axial loading problems.
4. Develop and analyze a basic design or mechanical part under combined loading by
computing principal stresses and applying failure theories.
