Sub. Code : CE6402 Branch / Year / Sem : B.E Civil/II / IV

Sub.Name : Strength Of Material Batch : 2013-2017
Staff Name :J.Sharmila Academic Year : 2014-15 (Even)

OBJECTIVE
To introduce to the students the strength and basic characteristics of materials for proper
applications in the industry.

LEARNING OUTCOME
A Student can,

1. Analyze two dimensional basic stress, strain, and axial loading problems.

2. Solve torsion problems of circular shafts as solid or hollow bars.

3. Analyze beam of different cross sections to meet design requirements.

4. Develop and analyze a basic design or mechanical part under combined loading by
computing principal stresses and applying failure theories.
