The Association of Law Students of the Philippines, Inc. (ALSP) is the largest network of law
students in the country. Its mission is to help improve our legal education and instill social
awareness, camaraderie, and companionship among Filipino law students. The National Capital
Region (NCR) consists of twenty-nine (29) law schools and the regional board provides for
activities that specifically dedicated for students of the region.
As part of its’ mission to promote a holistic learning environment and good working
relationship amongst law students across the region; we, the ALSP NCR Regional Board,
together with the Arellano University School of Law, De La Salle University – College of Law
Student Council and the Polytechnic University of the Philippines – College of Law Student
Council will be hosting the CONFLICTS OF LAW 2019 – STRONGER AS ONE. This is the
annual tournament that consists of sports and other nonacademic events, and is participated by
the all the law schools in the region.
It will be on five consecutive Sundays of 2019: January 27, February 3, 10, 17, and
24. The tournament will start with an opening ceremony with the taking of an Oath of
Sportsmanship for all the players and participants, and a closing ceremony with a recognition for
all the winners and the participants and a solidarity night open for all students.

II. ELIGIBILITY:
A. Law School. All law schools who are members of good standing in the association are eligible
to participate in the Conflicts 2019 and all the activities and events. A member of good standing
is deemed to have settled his membership fee of P2,500.00 to the national treasurer and has
been issued the Certificate of Membership signed by the National President, Secretary General,
and Governor for the National Capital Region.
B. Student. All bona fide law students from any law school of good standing in the National
Capital Region who are enrolled in the semester1 where the inclusive dates of the tournament
fall.
C. Official Representative. All law schools shall have an official representative that shall be the
immediate contact person of the ALSP NCR in all matters concerning the general and technical
aspects of the tournaments. Official Representatives shall be a law student that is willing and
able to participate in any of the meetings for the tournament. He or she may be an Local Student
Government/Council (LSGC) officer, team captain, or any bona fide student of the law school
fit and able to make decisions for the law school for the tournament.
III. REGISTRATION:
A. Process:
1. The Law School, through the official representative or (LSG/C) Officer shall
accomplish the online registration form, registering their law school for the events
and activities in the Conflicts Tournament proper. Link:

2. After accomplishing the registration, they should receive an e-mail from the ALSP
NCR (ncralsp@gmail.com) containing their total registration fee with the process of
payment and further information about their participation, this shall serve as the
Memorandum of Understanding between the law school and the ALSP NCR;
3. A soft-copy of the deposit slip, and a signed MoU shall be sent in reply to the initial e-
mail (containing the registration fee and initial guidelines) of the ALSP NCR.
4. An acknowledgement e-mail and a copy of the receipt shall be sent in reply which
should signify the official registration of the law school in the Conflicts 2019
Tournament.
5. Official Law School Registration shall end on January 10, 2019.

B. Law School, Registration in Events: All eligible law schools must register through the online
registration form provided by the organizer. The registration shall contain the following
information:
1. Name of the Law School
2. Soft-Copy of Law School Logo
3. Name of Official Contact Person of the ALSP NCR for their school
4. Contact Number of the person specified above;
5. Official e-mail address where all formal communications regarding the tournament
shall be forwarded to;
6. Name of Student Council/Government President
7. Contact Number
8. Team Captains and respective Contact Numbers
9. Agreement to Terms and Conditions of the Tournament and the Association.
C. Players and Participants: All eligible players and participants shall register through the online
registration form provided by the organizer; the registration shall contain the following
information:
1. Full name of Participant
2. Law School
3. Contact information
4. School ID Number
5. Soft-copy of Registration Form/Enrollment Form
6. Soft-copy of Active Law School ID
7. Jersey Number
8. Events participating in
9. LSG/C affiliation
10. Emergency contact person and information

D. Probationary Players and Participants: Considering the different schedules of the law
schools in NCR, the association understands that some students may still not be enrolled before
the deadline of the registration for players and participants. They are still allowed to register as
players of their law school despite incomplete requirements 3 provided that they re-register
through the same form with complete requirements before the February 1, 2019 5:00 PM 4.
Failure to comply shall forfeit any win or standing in favor of the opponent that may have been
incurred during the first day of the tournament.

This is the Saturday before the second Sunday of the Tournament as agreed upon in the meeting last November 18,
2018. The time is provided to give ample time for the organizers to make necessary changes and adjustment and
give due notice to affected schools and teams.

Annex: Conflicts of Law Registration Adjustment
4. Parties shall be informed immediately upon resolution of the incident, verbally and
through writing.
5. All documents shall be consolidated by the Secretary of the ALSP NCR and shall be
made reference to in case of fines and sanctions.
C. Right to Question: Technical Guidelines can no longer be questioned during the day and time
of the game. Once the final guidelines have been sent at least one week before the tournament
proper, questions regarding any matter stipulated in the guidelines may no longer be raised.
The proper time to question the guidelines shall be during the Technical Working Group
Meeting.
D. Failure to make decision: in the event that the Technical Working Group fails to render any
decision regarding the matter, it may be further reported and subject to decision and
corresponding sanction of the ALSP National Board.
VII. STAFF
A. Staffers and Volunteers: The organizers shall recruit volunteers for the preparation and
execution of the activities for the tournament. This shall be open to all law students in
participating law schools.
B. Mandatory Staff Members: All participating law schools shall provide the organizers with
assistance through 5 staff members, who are bona fide law students of their law schools, except
for players who have scheduled games at the time of their assignment for staffing. Assignment
for staffing shall be given at least week before the start of the tournament.
VIII. AWARDS AND PRIZES
A. Awards and Recognitions. There shall be individual and team awards based on the official
scores of the games. Awards shall have corresponding tokens. Official announcement of scores
and winners shall be announced through the official web page of the organizers. All participants
and players shall be awarded a Certificate of Participation. All individual winners shall be
awarded a medal and a Certificate of Recognition. All team winners shall be awarded a trophy
and a Certificate of Recognition addressed to the law school.
B. Prizes. Final list of applicable prizes shall be announced atleast one week before the
tournament.
C. Awarding. Awarding of winners shall be on the Closing Ceremony of the Conflicts of Law
2019 which shall be held on the last Sunday of February.
D. Overall Winners. There shall be an Overall Winner for the tournament. This shall be based
from scores accumulated from participation and corresponding standing. They shall also be
awarded on closing day.

Official Opening and First Game
2. For team sports games, players shall wear a jersey that bears the name or logo of their
school, their last names, and a jersey number. However, if the law school cannot secure
a jersey for their players, the former shall inform the organizers ahead of time.
E. Guests and Visitors
1. Guests are law students who are not players nor participants to any event of the
tournament but are present during the day to assist or support their respective teams.
They are encouraged to pre-register their attendance and wear any attire that identifies
them with the law school/team.
2. Visitors are persons who are not students of any law school but are present on the day
of the tournament to support their friends or family that may be players or participants.
They must register as they enter the host school premises and pay the entrance fee.
They shall identify the school and player or participant they are supporting, and the
law school, player, or participant is expected to advise their visitors and guests to
follow rules and regulations set by the host school and organizers. Failure to do so will
constitute a warning for the law school represented or where the player or participant
belongs.
3. Any guest or visitor representing any team or law school who displays
unsportsmanlike/disrespectful conduct, such as but not limited to: showing of dirty
finger, malicious trash talking against the opponent team, arguing with the officials,
shouting foul language in an offensive manner, and others 7 during an on-going
game/event and at the venue of such, shall be taken as a Technical Foul against the law
school which the guest or visitor is representing.
4. For Arellano University Law School: Parking is available only for small private cars
on a first come first served basis. There are limited parking lots however the nearest
mall can accommodate cars (Harrison Plaza, Pasay). Buses or shuttles for schools are
allowed only to drop of their students.
F. Banners and Flags
1. Bringing and using of banners, flags, and the like is allowed provided that;
a. It shall not contain in foul or derogatory language;
b. It shall be posted properly in allowed areas.
G. Violations.
1. Technical Violations. All technical violations, as provided by the technical guidelines,
shall be sanctioned accordingly. Grave violations of technical guidelines as determined
by the officials, shall be sanctioned by players disqualifications.
2. Fine. The following violations of students or supporters of schools shall be subject to
a fine of P500.00 on the law school, after a 1 st warning is issued:
a. House Rules or School Policies of the host school, such as but not limited to:
no smoking, no drinking, no littering, no vandalizing, etc. should be strictly
followed.
b. No one is allowed to enter or participate in the tournament under the influence
of alcohol or illegal drugs;
c. No one is allowed to bring deadly weapons, illegal drugs, or alcohol in the
tournament;
